    UK Throne of Skulls July

So Throne of Skulls is only a week or so away. I'm going with mixed feelings this time due to only having 3 weeks to learn the rules. I've picked a very basic necron list so that I have to consider as few new rules as possible in the games. I only hope that the organisers have considered the fact that there will be players who don't know the rules and there is additional time / more judges to compensate. Still going to be a great weekends gaming, chatting and drinking.
    Anyone else going?
How are you feeling about the new rules?

I also share your reservations over the new rules, I have only managed three games under 6th, so I foresee a lot of head scratching and flipping through rule books. That said I have loved the new rules so far and can't wait for the weekend.

Still trying to finalize my list but at this point it looks like nids led by the swarmlord, just point at the enemy, charge, stab and eat. Simples!

Brilliant, simple plans are truly the most effective!

Spoke to the organisers on saturday during the open day and they've said that everything in the rulebook will be played, even the terrain set up. The more I play the new rules the better I feel the game has become.

Really excited for next week (even more so than usual) and will definitely be bringing a large wet fish to use as a weapon on anyone who brings more than 2 fliers in their list

I'm just going to rock up with my Scatter Laser spam Eldar and see how they do.
I expect them to all die horribly...which is nothing new. lol.

Surprising they are using the terrain set up rules, I assumed we would just rock up and use the tables as we found them(looks like another section of the book I will have to re read).
As far as allies and fortifications go, they must be in, if they are using the above rules.
Not that allies concern a nid player, who wants to team up with a 15 ton bug eyed, drooling, killing machine.

Yeah, allies and fortifications are both in.

Should be quite interesting to see what combinations people come up with, plain and simple Necrons for me. Wonder if anyone will be using Archon / shadowfield / fortune farseer combo? Again, another fish for that methinks...

Had an amazing weekend, big thanks to everyone I played Bob (s wolves), Andrew (blood angels), Wayne (guard) Dan( d eldar) and Lev (s wolves), 5 excellent games 3 wins 2 defeats with nids. only received one whupping(looking at you dirty Dan with your filthy farseer ally) even that game I enjoyed.
highlight of the weekend was the Swarmlord on one wound casting life leech on three cowering gurdsmen, he promptly rolled double 6 and his head exploded, genius.
will definately be going in October. Just one question as I had to head off early does anyone know where the results are posted.

    My list was
    the swarmlord
    2 tervigons
    15 dev gaunts
    trygon
    mawlock
2 units of 2 hive guard
    venomthrope.
running a naked swarmlord lord is usually suicide but I was counting on getting iron arm in most games, plus nightfighting with the venomthrope on first turn. As it turned out the dice gods laughed in my face and I only managed to roll it once in my last game and only got nightfighting once as well. when he did get it he was nigh on unkillable, took 3 units of longfangs, 3 turns to bring him down in the last game.
