All opinions welcomed, fluff is more important to me than competitiveness, but I'd like it to be as playable as possible whilst still retaining the theme!

Tactics wise, the exalted will be with the WoC, with the plan to get them into combat as quickly as possible with minimal ranged casualties (no surprises there!). The spawn/trolls would be sticking fairly close, with the idea being to counter charge units with the WoC and also to soak up a bit of fire. I've found the warshrine to be hard to kill, so that should also act as a bullet magnet whilst improving the WoC. Warhounds will act as march blockers, bullet magnet, skirmisher/lone wizard killers and general annoyances!

I like it a lot!.. always loved the idea for a theme like this. but then with some marauders inlead to finish the norsca though.. i dont know if it works tho. you might want to expand your list to 1000 points to make it easier to play.! .
you could swap the trolls/spawns for marauders.. to get more body's on the field.. the houds stay in 2 units of 5 for possible flankers etc. i like it..

Thanks, I know that competitively speaking marauders would be better, but I wanted the WoC to represent semi-armoured berserker (the models I'll be using are half way in between marauders and chaos warriors). I will be expanding to 1000, but wanted to start at 750 because I take ages to paint models so need to keep motivated!

I'm just wondering which is generally regarded as better, trolls or spawn?

Our local warrior of chaos player seems to play with trolls.. he said spawns are awfull.. :P but ey i am no specialist on warriors of chaos so some one els could probly help you better. what paint scheme ure using?

Thanks for your help! From my experience, I'm thinking the same, but then again I haven't played much at all with the new rules. For my warriors, they'll be looking very similar to these, although not quite as well green-stuffed I must admit! I'm painting them with very pale skin, verdigris and battle damaged armour, blue clothing and red/blonde hair.

This army sounds sweet dude Would love to play against it. I agree with the second list being better. I don't have any experience with spawn but the second list gives you another major threat in the trolls. That way not ALL the shooting/magic will be aimed at your warrior block(hopefully). If the War Alter conversion isn't an important part of the theme then maybe dropping it to grab some marauder horsemen/beef up your 2 threat units could be good?

that paint scheme sounds great to me. i would love to see it when it is finished. in the bretonnian knight novels.. theres a great battle between bretonnians and norscans. you would love to read it someday knight of the realm the novel is called.

Thanks, I think I'll go for the second then. Only thing is having to keep the trolls close to the exalted hero because of stupidity, but that shouldn't be a problem because I was intending to anyway! The warshrine and warrior block are something I always include, but once the army is bumped up to 1000 points I'll be adding either more warriors or marauder horsemen!

Thanks! I've so far done a test model and converted a few warriors, once I've painted a few up I may start up a project log on here! I might have to order that, sounds like a great read and I've really enjoyed the Gotrek and Felix books.

yeah those gotrek and felix books where cool.. if you havent read the knights of bretonnia.. get the knights of the realm book .. its al about those norscans getting on those bretonnians.. you should be able to get loads of norscan information by just reading that book:P

making a paintblog on warseer is always cool.. there are loads and loads of good guys here withs can help you giving advise for your paintjobs.
