In the Storm of Magic Novella Hour of Shadows pertains to the relationship between Zoats and the Asrai.
Harry confirmed Zoats for Fantasy in the WoC thread. I think SoM text implies they'll be in the Wood Elf book. I think that warrants an update to the front page.
Skaw's initial optimisim about Wood Elves being re-released in mid 2013 is slipping... Early 2014 ftw!
I think she did some great stuff in the old days, but sculpting has moved on, and she hasn't particularly.

Only from one guy, Harry said he had heard about Zoats but nothing specific. Also in SOM Zoats are related mostly to wood elves.

The only way GW was gonna push their models since there are none similar in the entire world market! Guys here preferred Mantic models more, but the book scr$%d them up on this one and forced them on buying back some GW models.
I on the other hand prefer conversions, so I'll still be using my Mantic models one way or another (which costed me half of what GW charges)...

Hello everyone, I write from Italy, where this thread has been translated and kept udpdated in an unofficial forum, GW Tilea .
There are some rumours about Asrai from a playtesting team in Glasgow, posted by Avalon, but I dont' know if they are still valid. (it was the end of 2011)

a. Naieth the Prophetess with her owl are coming back in the next armybook. She would make some other Lores of magic availables for selection (like Life, Beasts and Heavens), or maybe the entire army could choose these additional Lores. Avalon doesn't know if this rule is due to the presence of Naieth in the army, or if it's always possible for Asrai.
b. Skaw will be in the book as a special character, and his presence will allow to choose Great Eagles as a Special choice, (some people said this, other people said the eagles with Skaw become 2x1 rare choice, like the Asur ones)

Thanks Ganon, these sound plausible (and fantastic!). If Naieth's owl allows us to reroll misses when shooting at a specific unit again, I will be extremely happy. Plus, I've always had a soft spot for Skaw (evidently) - if he was useful (sadly he wasnt particularly in 5th ed) I'd take him every time.

Indeed. This, to me, is not a rumour of chaos zoats, but rather the reverse.

Big goofy teeth. Pretty much everything else about her creatures is great, but they always have huge oversized teeth. Great for Squigs but not on a Hydra or Dragon.

God no. Static, BULGE OF BULGES, Whip-thicker-than-arm, Eaglehead-looking-like-a-blackbird...
Nostalgia is a good thing, not in this case. The Wood Elf Characters do not match the quality of the High Elf ones. At least when it eventually comes we can pretty much guarantee a Plastic set for Foot/Horse Mounted General and a Foot/Unicorn/Horse Mounted Spellweaver.
