That damsel in distress concept sounds absolutely insane... but fun.

I was told we would see a magnificient new sculpt of Repanse de Lyonesse, but see here for caveats.

Awesome news if true. Was there any info about whether she may be finecast or a plastic kit if we see her come back? Either way i really do hope to see her return in a new book. roll on 2020 lol

Hum, the rumour of bretonnian warhorse cavalry becoming MC in place of the lance formation could be interesting:

    - you could still have ranks of 3 with 25mm wide models (but lose some attacks from the sides)
    - the S3/4 stomp attack would help grind core units when the charge failed to break them
    - multi-attacks models, especially Grail Knights, would be able to use them from the second rank
    - this could open the way for knights hordes (MC get to horde when 6 wide) with the cheapest ones

On the whole, this would reduce the number of attacks for most knights lances, but give them more potential for large units of cheap knights, or for the most elites of them.

Hmm... one of the nifty things about a Bret army are the long lines/christmas trees (from the previous lance), as compared to the generally wide nature of other armies (and peasants, but they're just peasants... ). It seems to give a good sense of, "these guys are *all* about smashing into you," whereas most other cavalry seem to tend towards a "gonna slice you and dice you" look (at least, to me). Of course, they get pretty clunky because of that length, which they may want to get rid of. If switched to MC, I wonder if that'll come with larger bases on new models, or if they'll just "count as" MC?

Flaming wine barrels sound at least amusing even if they *don't* come with special rules beyond being flaming, though!

I've heard that we will see the return of dismounted knights as well as some kind of massive "contraption of a trebuchet", both of which have already been mentioned by Antipathy. Certainly hoping the former is true.

We tend to associate bases to unit types, but there is no such rules in the first place, ex, squig hoppers are cavalry on 20mm bases.

That's the most hilariously stupid idea for a unit I've ever heard. Stupid enough to succeed? Maybe!

Rumors about a new Repanse de Lyonese sound great! Until I remember it will be in finecast, and then I'm sad

That were my thoughts exactly. This would be so stupid, I would refuse to buy a model of this. If that is the case, I just convert or built a model that is more to my taste. But I am exited to hear something for Brets. I don't get my hopes to hight tho. mid to late 2013 is a while.

While this may seem like a ways off, it's not nearly as long of a wait compaired to looking back at 6th edition. That being said, my wallet will be more than happy to wait a bit longer as it's still trying to grow money to pay for new VC models (yes.. I'm trying to catch up - I've barely started on the new Empire ones!) and expanding my Wood Elfs.

    Re: Bretonnian Rumours

The problem with Bretonnians are that Empire is too many things. The major points of distinction could have been magic, religion, or technology but GW has made the empire better in all respects. Black powder and steam power vs. stone throwers... Sigmar cult, flagellents, and warrior priests vs. pilgrims and relique... Multiple schools of wizardry and a myriad of magical creatures vs a sorceress and pegassi. GW even diminished the virtuousness of Bretonnian knights, to the point that the Empire is more noble. So where does this really leave Brettonians?

Can do. I dislike the concept of the nasty skulkers for the common goblins (goblin assassins heh?), so mine are the goblin star players from Blood Bowl (with chainsaws etc). I agree the concept isn't thrilling, but I suspect it's actually not like that and the explanation originally just went through poorly.

    Re: Bretonnian Rumours

If the rumour of removing grail pilgrims becames true, that would be a very good thing: less peasants focus = better for bretonnians.

Plaese GW focus more in the greattest aspect of the bretonnian fluff... HEROES GW, WE NEED MORE HEROES! (more focus in our characters, champions, special characters, magic weapons and armour, virtues, mountrous mounts, etc...). The characters should be the most important thing in any bretonnian army, it is the land of heroes after all...

Also, it is a shame that no one has still heared nothing about ghostly knights and ghostly archers, but maybe it is still too early for that...

    Re: Bretonnian Rumours

I would be extremely surprised if GW don't release plastic foot knights of some kind, as they are on every Bret players wish list that I know. I don't play Brets, but this is something that I want.
