    New Space Wolf project

So, I finally finished and sold my Tyranid army, and put some funds towards a new force - Space Wolves. I wanted a new challenge and really liked the Wolf character models. I decided to paint the army lighter than the standard Russ (shadow) grey with highlights. Ive gone right up to fenris grey for the armour. I also wanted to go detail heavy on them and do a lot of rune writing on them. I have just finished a scout squad and am working on a drop pod, using, for the first time, weathering effects. So far so good! The only thing Im not 100% on is the transfers on the scout pads - I was reliably informed that by using the lahmian medium it would matt finish them, which it didnt. Im umming and ahhing whether just to paint over them. I think they don't look great because of the size and curve of the scout pads, I will make a final decision when I start my Grey hunter unit later this month.

Anyway, without further ado, here is the first unit of my new swolf force, enjoy.

i like the runes on the shoulderpads, i'd break the bases up with some grey rocks or something else.
what's you recipe for the skintones?

you might want to move this thread to imperium logs because this is the group project log
Have a look at my plogs and comment: Malifaux (new sept 2012)
Infinity Military orders (new sept 2012)

Youre right about the bases - To be honest Im probably not even going to use the scouts in my actual army Im thinking of doing patchy bases with snow, Im working on a test marine right now for a template for the power armour technique. The skin is tanned flesh (2 thin coats to get a nice coverage over the undercoat), tanned flesh with elf flesh highlight, elf flesh highlight then a final wash of ogryn flesh to blend it all together.

I will have to move the thread if thats the case! Um...... where is the 'move thread' button...
