Blood Angel successor name...

I am currently building a Blood Angel army and to start with I am building a Sanguinary Guard army that I will expand on in the future.

I would like to take this opportunity to create my own chapter. However, it seems that finding a name has been somewhat difficult. Every variation of the color red and the word blood has been used. I am being lazy and not changing the symbol (they have a variety of different molds for the sanguinary models), so I want to incorporate the blood drop and the wings.

As far as a name goes, I have not seen anyone use the word Bleeding. What are your thoughts on this? I dont want to say the name that I am more than likely going to use until I get some models painted and posted on here. An example would be Bleeding Cardinals, Bleeding Eagles...what is your opinion?

Also, I would like to hear some of the names of your DIY Blood Angels successor chapters. (I am curious and I also want to make sure that the name that I want to use is not already taken).

Nah but seriously it sounds like they the ones doing the bleeding, while blood sounds like they thrive in the presence of blood, that's their enemies blood. But that's just my impression, feel free to do what you want to.

I thought about that. I finally decided that it was more of a positive thing than a negative one. Here are a few reasons that can be expanded on...

1)Their flaw (red thirst/black rage) bleeds their numbers, bleeds their sanity, bleeds their emotion?
2)They feel that they must serve the emperor in blood (bleeding for the emperor).
3)They secretly (very secretly) bleed their victims/enemies to help suppress the red thirst (I think another successor chapter does something like this with blood).

Well, that is just a few. I also considered that they may have taken on that name after some important incident...I dont know. Still planning.

No but honestly consider cardinals of bleeding eagles of bleeding and angels of bleeding to bleeding cardinals/eagles/angels.

Why stick with it being a blood drop? Paint it blue, and you can use tears and/or rain for the theme. Or for a particularly creepy chapter, paint them in bone and call them Weeping Angels

My BA successors are a metallic blue. The "blood" drop I painted light blue.
They are named the Angels of Sorrow.

haha! no worries. I think it is cool too. I already have my name though. I am just trying not to post it until I get a model painted to go with it.

I like the bleeding chalice. I also got an idea i might use myself: Angels of Bloodletting, referring to the old medical practice of blood letting. They have a larger number of apothecaries than normal who ritually drain the blood of their dead enemies after battle for some reason.

Hmm might call them The Phlebotomists chapter instead or something.
