    The Imaginarum of Spjuth

Hello! I've mostly been posting stuff over at Warhammer-Empire.com, but thought I should share some of my stuff with you gut over here too.

I am currently working on a unit of ten Knights of the Black Rose (Inner circle obviously)
Here is my progress so far:

And close ups on the only painted knight so far:

The painting is kind of a test, so I guess I'll have to repaint at least some parts when the rest of the knights are being painted, so feel free to criticize however much you like.

    Thanks for watching!

    Thank you!
The moon helmet is inspired by some old artwork by John Blanche.

The moon face looks good but I think I like the rose on the barding even more. Great work, I look forward to seeing more.

Yeah, I know the artwork you're on about, I've always wanted to do an empire knight army based around that. Awesome work on the conversions!

Thanks for all the kind comments mates!

Here is the beginning of a unit of Empire Talabecland Great Swords that I'm using as a practice for NMM (Non-metallic-metal):

So far is consists of the Moon Duke from the 80s Heroic Fighters of the Old World series, Two classic marauder Reiksguards, two 4th edition Reiksguard and a 6th edition Great Sword.
As I am always trying to improve my techniques all kind of criticism is welcome.

Hope you enjoy and thanks for watching!

Wow! Love your painting style, and the fact you are modelling to match old-school John Blanche artwork has made this my new favorite log!

Tack! Känner jag dig? Thanks mate!

Here's an update on my Great Sword unit, now a playable one, even if it might not be very efficient.
    First the newcommers:

    And some close-ups:

    And the "Full" Unit all-together:

    Thanks for watching!

    Re: The Imaginarum of Spjuth

Good show mate! I usually don't like NMM at all but this approach looks pretty damn good (I'm ashamed to say ) It reminds me of some kind of oil painting style which somehow fits your Blanchish style. Small nitpicks would be some more highlights on the purple, yellows (especially feathers). A few more highlights on the topmost points i.e. feathers, moon, helmets/ hats would make the unit pop even more.

    Sweet stuff, keep it up!

It's a thin line between ordinary NMM and Crome-NMM (Which I want the stay away from).
And yes you're absolutely correct that I can be a little hasty with the highlight on the "mundane" items. Sometimes I just paint it one colour, wash it and paint it the same colour again, guess I could put a little more effort into them.

    Re: The Imaginarum of Spjuth

Small update with a finished Great Sword Champion (or whatever they are called these days).

I guess most will recognize the old Reiksguard Champion. The Sword and Pistol has been replaced with weaponry from the General of the Empire kit, and yeah I know they are quite on the big side but that's how Warhammer should be!

As this is my first Golden NMM armour, it is very experimental, so please comment and give some advices for further gold armours!

I like the bright colors and your nmm is very eye catching.

Can't wait to see those knights painted!

    Re: The Imaginarum of Spjuth

    Yay more updates!

The champ looks the bomb mate! I really like the gold armor, the only thing done to inprove it would be some more shadow to the crown thing (maybe some highlight to it as well?) and painting the cloth slung across his chest in an other color than yellow as it almost blends into the aromor at places.Looks great anyhow and I like the conversion a lot! The paint on the sword is particulary good, you are really setting us up with a unique paintingstyle (Y) Keep it up
