Thread: So just how did Oxyotl find his way back to Lustria?

So just how did Oxyotl find his way back to Lustria?

Assuming that his story is still what it is, and taking into account the 8th edition world map, I assumed that Frodo? Oxyotl gets out of the Realm of Chaos, goes south through the Eastern Steppes, finds his way around the Great Bastion of Cathay, goes through the hinterland of Khuresh and makes way to the Lost TempleCity of the Old Ones in middle of the jungle.

The little skink that could, would have walked a distance longer than that of the Silk Road, while successfully evading and/or killing off daemons and Hung and Kurgan as well as snakemen and naga (Monstrous Arcanum background does say they are Chaos aligned) not to mention whatever else along the way in order to get to the Temple. Which is impressive, but still no where close to Lustria.

    So, from there, does Oyxotl:

A: Stowaway on a Asur/Cathay ship headed for the Citadel of Dawn?
B: Walk alllll the way back north to the steppes, east through the lands of Chaos, and south to go through Naggaroth to get to Lustria?
C: Get lucky and find an open path of the Old Ones that leads to Lustria?
D: Decide to travel with Golgfag Maneater and bet on the ogre eventually leading him home?
E: Get fed up and just swim towards the east until he finds the continent?

Maybe he called and someone came to pick him up Warhammer style? LM do have teleport spells and the likes.

Lizardmen travel surprisingly quickly; a simple phone call at Mazdamundi's could have done the trick.

C: Get lucky and find an open path of the Old Ones that leads to Lustria?

He probably remembered where one of the old "Fargates" back to lustria is located, likely in Abalon or the South Lands.

Now that I remember, Tamurkhan also mentioned that the winds of Chaos can shorten distances the same way that the College of Shadow can do. So there's also the option that Oxyotl got lucky with one of those.

Albion and the Southlands are on the otherside of the world, so if Oxyotl did go there, he must've been really really lost.

Although I admit, option E.T.Oxyotl Call Home sounds pretty cool itself.

For all we know the realm of chaos just 'spat' him back out somewhere relatively close to lustria. It's an odd place, the realm of chaos. If he could only get out of there from the north pole portal, the most direct route would be to naggaroth and downwards. Halfway across the continent you stumble on hexoatl already.

Assuming he came out at the "North Pole", couldn't he have just walked down through Naggaroth to Lustria?
Mat Ward Fact #64001- Mat Ward has been described as willowy with elven features.

The latest version of his story mentions that he went to the Lost TempleCity of the Old Ones before he got to Lustria - and on the world map that's to the south of Cathay, with an ocean separating Lustria and Khuresh.

Of course, given how GW changes character fluff....

Isn't it implied that Clan Eshin has their temple in some part of Khuresh?

I thought that his fluff mentioned something like the 'silent halls of the old ones', referring to something inside the realm of chaos (possibly part of the paths the old ones originally used to travel through the realm of chaos into the warhammer world), instead of the temple of the old ones in Cathay.

    Having gone back and double checked LM 7th;

So it is that Oxyotl found a path back to Lustria. He passed through places he may never speak of, such as silent halls of the Lost City of the Old Ones. But millennia have passed and the world has changed.
So I went and checked the world map again - and it is the Lost City in Khuresh, not the Lost Temple (no such thing, bad Lotl!)

There are the Paths of the Old Ones that connect the whole Warhammer world in a manner sort of like 40K's Webway. Teclis closed them down during the war on Albion (just before 'present' timeline-wise), but if Oxyotl's journey was earlier in the timeline then he could have entered the Paths in the Lost City and re-emerged in Lustria in a few hours or less.
