    Ork Kopta Karrier

So I was commissioned to do a new Ork vehicle.

This one is a bit bigger than the usual Looted Wagons.

So big I decided to do a mock up first out of foamboard.

I think from the mock up you pretty much get what the vehicle is. Basically a heavily armed behemoth with a flight deck which can hold about nine Koptas.

I am currently in the process of looting a Baneblade for the base vehicle everything else is built on top of. It has been lengthened by 80mm and widened by 50mm.

However before I started on that (while I was waiting for the BB to arrive) I started working on two AA turrets to site on top of the command superstructure.

Very early days with this, long way to go yet but I thought I'd start showing fellow Meks what is in the Workshop...

    Cheers

    Re: Ork Kopta Karrier

    Very awesome indeed!
I thought this might be one of those flying/hovering aircraft carriers like the S.H.I.E.L.D.(?) organisation has in the Marvel comics, but the extended Baneblade is really fantastic, as well.

    Update time.

The front has been extended and I built the drivers cab. Had to make a couple of modifications as when I came to start working on the track units tonight I realised I couldn't fit the forward drive wheels.

And the mods I had to make:

If you are interested I am running a competition on my blog around the Karrier - namely guess the number of rivets I will add. Prize will be one of my gun emplacement kits. If you fancy a go drop onto the blog and have a read of the details.

Break from the Karrier for a couple of days now, but will be back on it this weekend.

    Re: Ork Kopta Karrier

    No worries.

The outer track unit panels have been built and detailed up (though detail will change/be modified as required later). The track units were then assembled to the hull itself. The top track unit panels will either be covered or hidden away later.

I've begun adding the interior detail, the lift is not glued in position yet:

Looking down the hole when the upper level is added will be something like this:

The tracks for it arrived from Blood and Skulls Industry, i've sorted the road wheels i'll be using but not touched the track itself yet.

Current rivet count is up to 1283...

Many more pics on the blog (link below).

    Re: Ork Kopta Karrier

    Cheers.

Time for an update. Been busy with other things as well as been away a couple of times, but some work has been done.

    Internal hull:

I put together a Multiple Rokkit Launcha and built the recess into the upper hull for it:

Which using some foamboard as a stand in deck will look like this when opened up for firing:

As always many more pics (and better explanation probably) on the blog linked below.

    Re: Ork Kopta Karrier

Sweet! Are those circular rivets or do they have edges?
Will you be doing Ork-Crew in different colored vests like they have on an aircraft carrier? It would fit really well i believe since the ork models are clothed in vests anyway.
