I decided to keep track of my Macedonians and Anglo-Saxons armies for my friends game 'Seasons of War'.
Macedonians
I chose these guys because, well, there are few things cooler than massed ranks of pikes(Sarissa) all lined up. Plus the pikes make the ultimate Anvil for a Anvil/Hammer army.
Phalangites: I've got a few more bases to put together, I hope to have two 4x4 units in the finished product.
Theurophoros Infantry: The flexible infantry, a couple of washes still needed on these guys. there will hopefully be 3 units of these.
And of course Elephants! Can't have one of these armies without an elephant (or two!)
I've got some scout Cavalry and some Companion Cavalry to give the army the Hammer, that need basing and painting as well.
Anglo-Saxons
I picked up these guys to play some 6mm Hail Caesar, but should also play nicely in this game.
Huscarls with Axes;
Fyrd Spearmen
The Anglo-Saxon army is a little limited in the number of units, so i'll be adding to the ones i've already got once these guys are done.
As for the Game: The intention is for the rules to be lighter and a bit more casual then some of the more heavy games out there. In terms of the basing, we have decided to go for 30x20mm with characters being based on pennies. It's quite an interesting and fast paced game with an interesting take on moral and the 'swing of combat'. If you're interested in a copy of the rules (still in development) message either Artoris or myself!
Enjoy. C&C welcome!
