New GW Terrain Hiding in 6th Rulebook

It appears two expansion tiles to the realm of battle game board are pictured on pg. 345 of the 6th edition rulebook. They appear to be hill tiles with fortifications built into the side. Any thoughts on this? I'm looking at the image pretty closely and it doesn't appear to be a conversion...

Are you sure those arent the forgeworld realm of battle tiles?

I thought so too at first, but, the evidence against conversion is that the raised earth goes all the way across each tile to meet in the center. The standard hill tiles don't do that. Of course, that could have been part of the conversion, but there is no sign that the raised ground was converted - not only is there no seam of where the conversion would have to start, but the texture in the area that would have to be converted is exactly the same as the rest of the tile.

Or they cut apart one of the normal non-hilled tiled and put that behind the fortifications to form the raised ground. GW likes the use thousands of [insert currency] worth of terrain products for stuff like this.

Just maybe there are 'cliff' RoB tiles coming, and a GW employee thought it would be cool to add the fortification bits to cover the cliff face?

But yeah, a one-off conversion seems more likely - when the bits are 'free', you can really go to town with conversions...

Yeah maybe you're right. I'm seeing a single piece from the imperial sector on that wall as well. humph.

it's a conversion. There is seem on the upper level, and the lower. it's just a bunch of bastion bits used to create a wall, and a sheet of something to create the raised plateau, based on a couple ROB tiles, most likely the flat ones. And this is a studio piece, if they can't replicate the texture they designed the board with, then what are they good for?

I love the way they've added to the height of the left Bastion, it looks awesome.

looks like a conversion or photoshop. games workshop has been doing a ton of photoshop lately in white dwarf and in the rule book. notice how in the same image, all of the barrels look pretty much the same...

That's because those barrels are a single resin cast.
In WD and the rulebook you can see that they are covered in air-bubbles.

on topic though, I call conversion on the picture as well.

I think its a conversion as well and if it were not to be one i call a siege expansion coming soon... according to the a release per month policy that might be on the way.

Definitely pieces of the Imperial Bastion kit all along the right, there - I've been test-fitting the panels various ways this weekend, & came up with several possibilities that looked pretty much like those.

That stuff on the left is a Fortress of Redemption base with Manufactorum bits for towers, I believe.
Apparently, he had a very good time:

To play devils advocate -- wouldn't it make sense that GW would use pieces from that kit to make this? One, it makes it easier on their studio team; two, it maintains aesthetic consistency.
