My question is, if you place a ranged group of units like thunderers in front of a second group of warriors could the thunderers run through the dwarf warriors or is that illegal?

thats fine. though I think the warriors will have to check for panic.

That is correct.

I'm guessing you refer to a voluntary flee from a charge. They will flee straight away from the charging enemy (along a straight line from enemies centre to units centre).

If this wil take them through a friendly unit this is legal, but the latter will have to take a panic test.
