advice on Ogers

There is a 1000 point tourny coming up and I need help with a listm

I have a slaughter master
Battalion box
And box of ogers

The question is should I go lvl2 or lvl3 wizard

Any help would be great

I would say a level 3 with a scroll, or maybe a hellheart. You have to stop the big spells, they'll tear you apart.

If I take a lvl3 he has to naked because he is 250 points base

I agree with this.

Go for a Firebelly upgraded as level 2, give him a Helheart. That's your general. From the batallion and your ogres, grab as many Ironguts as possible. Banner of Discipline, musician and champion. Bring all your Leadbelchers. I'm not sure how many points you'll be at now, but it's time for another unit of Ironguts, if you don't have the models go normal ogres with death fist. One big block of 12 'guts and a unit of 6 Leadbelchers will leave you with aproximately 200pts to spend on the firebelly

I've forgotten the exact loadouts, but I used a 1000pt list for several games a while back, it did fairly well:

Level 2 Firebelly

7 Ironguts

8 Ogres

2 Sabretusks

3 Maneaters (converted by combining basic Ogres with Imperial Handgunners, but the conversion opportunities are nigh-endless)

4 Mournfags on a 1k lists is cheesy haha, there won't be much that will be able to stop them.

Fire belly with a dispel scroll all the way. Leave it as a lvl1 and just fireball things to hell.

At that point level I wouldn't be surprised to see people bring no magic at all.

Give your firebelly the gold sigil sword too! I10 breath weapon is perfect for handling pesky hydras and hpas at 1K
