Within i will try to keep you up to date with my Khemri project and with this to keep my busy and painting... *G*
A lot has already been painted and will be shown step by step...
All of the minis are painted for gaming, so the intend is to have a good gaming quality.

Basically I got an idea while browsing the forum (OK.. i stole it *G*).... and then started to get all the materials.
Sp i got myself a box of the Khemri Sphinx model as well as a Box of the Tyranid Trygon.
For the Base, I wanted to stay as simple as possible... just added some special Items.

First steps then were to get an impression on the size of the final model.. and to build it up and close gaps (greenstuff & Milliput) and adapt to my needs... as well as putting sand a single Skull (still its a GW game.. *G*) on the Base.

@Juicy21 Thx, IŽll try my best... but at the moment its just uploading the pics, as a lot of work was already done.. *G*
Spray basing with Black and the with the little white from above, i could imagine where to put the lights....
Next steps were the applying of the basic colors: Vallejo model color brown for Gold Metal and GW bleached Bone for all the bones visible, while the scales were kept black.
At the base, I tried to keep earth parts in a dark brown tone (as this matches my army) and to use elf flesh for the statue and the stones. Additionally a first layer of green wash was applied to the statue and the stones...
Next steps were to apply basic color of GW Gold to the Metal parts and have the first wash for the bones (mix of brown ink and felsh wash.... sorry still using the "old" colors)... after drying a first drybrush with bleached bone was applied and then a layer of bleached bone and skullwhite was applied to the bones.. the small spikes were kept black and simply got a little grey edge pointing to the tip...
Next steps were the scales.. tried to make the scales ina look that i encountered some years ago at a quite nice Tyranid army... not quite happy, even as the pics donŽt show the four different layers... but IŽll go over this at another time.. additionally tried the marble effect on the back of the model as well as at the fac/head... three layers of white and blue ink are done so far... iŽll add another three to finish this and creat more depth.
Current State:
I did put the model on the base... added the Arms and added some paint to the neck and Arms... to match my Tomb King Army (gold&blue).... iŽll need to work on the blue at the neck as this should lok like gemstones in the very end (hopefully *G*)...
Gold was done by washing with Flesh wash and layering the Gold with Gold and burnished gold as well as burnished gold added with mithril silver...

Try to get the impression of marble by layering white lines with blue ink....
Add some lines with green to get more of this... lets see how this looks in a few days. *G*

Some more minis that were just recently painted here...
Some riders of the dea.. not very useful, but somehow needed. *G*
I wanted to give the impression, that they are coming right out of the sand.... will need more sand the next time.. :-)
Then I tried out to work on some character models.. I thought o have two additional princes on foot, a liche priest on foot and a kind on Chariot. Working on them was quite fun and went on very quick (so no WIP pics)... as always with character models. *G*

Really like the painting style, although for my personal taste the contrast between colors is a bit harse. (No idea if I translated that correctly from my native language.) I do however really like what you did on the skull of the big guy. Looks really awesome.
@WICKED DWARF ... I do understand what you mean.. *G* Though myself sometimes that some of these colors look a bit extreme. But once iŽve set up the army completely on the table it is (funnily enough) looking quite nice.
Remind me later that i have to do a complete army shot....

some Carrions for fun... even as i think that they might come quite useful, as they are one of the fastest units of tomb kings.
and the real nice Block of Tomb guards... I tried to make them look really old and still fit to the army schema... additionally their weapons should be special.
Boxes and first assembly.
Basing and the first steps, where i decided to go for brass as basic armor...
And finally it came out quite good... so i am pleased with the final result of my tomb guards at the moment.

Adding to this i stried to work my way on Necropolis Knights / Sepulchral Stalkers...
and finally for the fun... two Sphinx models with magnets to be chosen for Battle Sphinx and Nekrosphinx...
I tried here for the first time with the blue marble look (as seen on the nekrosphinx in the beginning of this thread)....
So basically this was the work of the last five months... .
And finalised in a nearly read to game army...

At the Moment for Month 6 i`m working on 10 additional tomb guards (old metal ones) to complete my old unit, 6 old style carrions (metal with riders), a Tomb king with pair of blades (magically WS 10), and three additional Nekropolis Knights... lets see if this works out within time...
