Agree, they are amazing. Even if they never do any damage, your opponent wastes shots shooting them instead of aiming at the Boyz.
Speaking of fanatics I'd say drop the 3 you already have. The units you have as it stands are too small and fragile for fanatcs to be used considering their lack of reliability.
Disagree. I only run 9 more night goblins than he does and they are an excellent fanatic delivery system. They tend not to attract too much shooting as this is concentrated on the Manglers (see above)
You don't need a ward save on a shaman, especially a goblin one. If they're going to be in combat, they're going to die anyway, at best it will keep it living for a single player turn longer.
Agree, but if he's a level 4 that's a waste. Bunker him and THEN drop the fanatics from the bunker (you don't need them behind your lines!)
If you're going to take an orc warboss, go for a black orc warboss. Better stats and an animosty blocker. Also a boar isnt ideal since as it stands, your general is most likely going to be with a unit of 5 models, which puts him at far too much risk.
Disagree hugely. Black orc Lords are overcosted, and he solves animosity by killing your own guys! Mind you, I take a regular warboss on a wyvern, so I'm not one for hedging my bets. A good combo is the Dwarf gouging axe, armour of destiny and shield I find! Don't try and limit animosity, if it happens, it happens, and it happens less than everyone thinks...
Drop the banner on the BSB and give him a ward save. BSBs hold the army together so you need him to be living as many hits as he can.
Agree. The BSB is essential in O&G's although that banner does give him more survivability against some characters by nullifying their magic items if he's in base to base....so could be good in some situations (try to avoid anyone with higher initiative and strength!)
Drop the magic banner on the big uns. If you are going to take a banner on them, take banner of discipline and stick your general in there to give a nice (and arguably needed LD10 bubble). Also, drop spears for additional hand weapons. They just dish out a lot more reliable damage.
Agrees about the hand weapons and the banner. 50 pts is a lot to spend on Terror, and the razor standard woulf make your big'uns tear through anything with a good AS.
In general, bulk up all of the units (other than the spiders, who need to be split into 2 units). Part of the armies strength is in numbers, currently which are lacking quite a lot. For example, 10 black orcs isnt going to do much damage and in return is going to give away 165vps very quickly. 30 on the other hand will last a while and dish out a nice bit of damage.
Yep, 10 black orcs will die to shooting before you can say Waaagh! And only take musician on the spiders!
I'm also fairly certain that your giant cant take warpaint since you dont have a unit of savage orcs or a savage orc character, but dont quote me on this since I never take giants and stopped really caring about them mid last edition.
This is true, you need a savage orc shaman to do this. I also don't take giants, but only cos the Arachnarock is better!
Doom divers and rock lobbers are a nice addition to the army, but I'd say that the stuff that mentioned above s probably more important to sort out first.
