Thread: What's new with AoW

    What's new with AoW

This post covers a few things: The 50 figure, the AoW dwarf campaign, and mentions to the Warthrone rules.

This came from the AoW forums.

While I never thought of 19 and 21 as empty references (just combi-kits), it appears that there will be a few more minis to go before the alleged '50 figure' is released. 99% sure that the '50' figure will be a dwarf king-- as that's one of the hero options that was offered in the campaign and one of two ideas Felix proposed and it is the idea that's met with the most excitement on AoW forums.

Rich is Rikard who sometimes posts here on Warseer. His latest project on AoW was a Lizardman, and he has shown a WIP of another, larger lizardman on the forums (although to my knowledge it hasn't been updated in some time.) If this WIP is an indication of what's yet to come, that will be great news!

I'm not sure who Sergio is at this time.

Concerning the rules for Warthrone, their upcoming Wargame--- The rules have been written now for a few weeks. Friday nights at AoW are open gaming. Players come into the store to play ADM (their first game) and Warthrone, and some of the posters on the Spanish AoW forums have been actively discussing the rules for Warthrone.

Cool! I think they could easily expand ADM if there was an option to buy a suitable arena kit somewhere.

According to a spanish source, they will release harpies for september or so, the kind that have wings instead of arms, and pointy teeth , also they are doing the pathfinders.

and sculpting a lot of dwarfs.

    So just keep waiting.

    Thanks ekxw!

Felix has just posted in the AoW forums. He says they are going to run the dwarf campaign raffle this Friday afternoon. Also, we should expect sneak peeks at some of the dwarves sometime soon; possibly next week!

Sneak peeks of Dwarfs sounds good, not usually a fan of Dwarfs but the concepts looked awesome.

I have been eyeing this flip-mat, you can find a review on youtube here. It is cheap, easy to store and apparently endurable.

Looking forward to those sneak peaks.

I ordered mine around Feb 8 and got them on June 8ish. I think you should send Felix an E-mail reminder. A couple Orders have been overlooked so far.

BTW they look even better in person!

I sent them an email when my Warriors of the Apocalypse were nearly 1 month late (I ordered on the 6th of February, it was the 25th of June, with an expected delivery date of the 4th of June). Their store manager replied, told me they should arrive in one week, and apologized for the extra delay, as they're even slower than expected. They got to my house some 10 days later.

The next miniature is the ogre-sized lizardman. The other one is, maybe, an undead.

The Warthrone rules looks amazing, with a special focus on the heroes and commanders, not like killer-machines but like officers (The game takes some ideas from historical wargames), so its very tactical.
As Scarymushroom have said we are actually discussing some of the game rules in the AoW forum: The abilities of the musicians and standarbearers, the system of charges... And we can suggest new rules too. I hope i could post a resume as soon as possible.

Arena Deathmatch will have updatings more often, cause a group of fans are helping with those avatars who actually have not a game card.

    PD: Please, excuse my english.

Sounds sweet! My only piece of input would be for them to keep their special rules consistent throughout. ;-)

Itīs on the spanish AoW forums. Every friday, when itīs possible, take place a warthrone and Arena Deathmatch beta testing season between the AoW staff and some volunteers (those lucky guys who live near to AoW central, XD). Later they post his conclusions about the game and tray to improve it changing rules or adding new ones.

Oh, the 50th miniature will be a mounted one: Dwarf King mounted on Warbear, or an Apocalipse Lord on Aberrant Scorpion. And how Felix loves the dwarfs, i think itīll be the first one.

The Harpies are not finished yet, just a little more time...
And... the WIP of a Dwarf Warrior (It seems a hero, but itīs part of a unit, the basic troop)

Wow, thanks for all the good stuff!

I'm really looking forward to War Bears (so I will really like the 50 figure I think).

The winner of the AoW mega-subscription has been announced! Congratulations to Jan Goldberg!

That is a nice dwarf warrior, those harpies are also quite good. Maybe some VC material as count as bats.

They're changing my mind on dwarfs as well.

The harpies could make good furies for daemons as well. Painted to match Daemonettes and they'd fit right in.
