Eldar rumour from 3++ is the new black

I, for one, welcome our new Xentarch overlords.

Interesting rumour, seems likely that it points towards a huge Eldar revamp, possibly early next year? Maybe DA will end up getting pushed back for this. I've been thinking a lot about Eldar lately - IMHO they really need/deserve a ground-up rethink. I'll be interested to see how this turns out.

Interested in seeing what these new Xentarchs are. They may be Phoenix Lords, since Maugan Ra looks awesome but the others could use a rework. Interesting to see Shining Spears become sky chariots now.

A quick note re: releases.

This wouldn't be released all at once, they've had this before in relation to getting a whole line done and then releasing it in bits and pieces we're more accustomed to seeing. The flyer for example might be released soon with the next flyer wave, etc.

In relation to the source - he's been quite reliable for me in terms of release dates (i.e. the early 6th ed push, Chaos release date, Necrons, etc.) but this is the first time I've gotten more info - I'll be ecstatic if it's all true but not surprised if only half is, etc.

And yes it's posted on the main 3++ page now with updated info.

My 2 Cent though:

Phantomwächter could be either a Wraithguard-like thing or Wraithlord-like thing as "Phantomlord" and "Phantomdroiden" is what the German Wraithlords and Wraithguard are called (the perfect translation of "Wraithguard" would be "Phantomwächter" by the way!). Both makes sense in plastic as the other are too and imo sounds like special thing - maybe the pendant to a Wraithseer - a psychic Wraithguard-character.

Eldritch Raiders... yea, basically Corsairs/Pirates, existed in 2nd Ed too.

Like others, I don't see how Warp Spiders and Everguard could be made one kit, except they change the look of Everguard massively.

I know that feel bro. Supposedly the flyer is to be released sooner and I suspect that the release might be spread out a bit with the new stuff being in the first wave and the updates flowing in later.

Been informed there are some Eldar boxes floating around warehouses. How long they get sat on before a codex is released though, who knows. I'm going to guess around a year off. We know CSM are next and then Dark Angels with the Hobbit crashing into scenes December, that could push DA back to early 2013. So mid 2013 is the likely bet for Eldar is something doesn't shove them out of the way.

plastic phoenix lord niadhau - For Shining Spears, appears to be on a Vyper jetbike.

Good lord thats a lot of stuff! Plastic Warpspiders are sounding very nice as are wraithguard.
On Jetbikes, I must admit that I love the current Jetbikes, but would welcome Warlock options and a multi-bike set.
On the flyer, it appears that one option will be a gunship/ bomber (assuming the D-Cannon is still a blast weapon). Perhaps the second might be more 'fighter-y' but I'm loving the sound of an Eldar Flyer with a BFG.
Xentarchs - possibly HQ Exarchs, possibly Phoenix Lords. Regardless, I don't think they are squad level exarchs due to the (presumably) new models for them (in finecast). I still find the idea of resin infantry boxes odd and think I will be giving Hawks and Eldritch Raiders a miss for a while.
Black Warden sounds cool.

And finally: Webway Portal? Teleport into my pants !

Why would there be a mix of three different languages in a list made from the boxes? While the boxes have all the languages on them, presumably you're only going to take special note of the name in your native language. It's possible the original writer has something other than English as a native language, but that only leaves room for two different languages in the list.

It's seeming like these are more likely to be some upgraded Exarchs as some have suggested. I will check with source to see if he can ascertain if they look liked supped up Exarchs are what not. Maybe replacing the Phoenix Lords? Not sure.

I don't think that we are talking about empty boxes as many have suggested because storing empty boxes in their "box" form would be an incredible waste of space. Any sane manager would store them flatten out. Also, as usully boxes come flatten out from the supplier they would also had to spend time to build every single box

Regaring the Everguard, the current codex only show us a drawing of a broad shouldered guy covered in a mantle/tunic and with a high elm and a lance so nothing of the actual body is shown soo they could hide everything under that mantle. The only problem I see is the body posture: the Evergar are standing tall and proud (like the DA Exarch for example) but the (current) Warp Spiders are kind of leaning down under the weight of their jump packs so if they keep the current posture for WS there would be likely different pairs of legs. Add to them the 2 elms types, arms (because of the weapons), cape/jump packs and you have quite a lot of not-common bits on the sprues...

Plastic Nuadhu Fireheart- Maybe new viper kit with an option for the special character?. I like the idea of the shining spears as a separate kit from the jet bikes - allows each kit to have different options- spears to have exarch options, maybe different canopies, the bikes to have options for warlocks, canopies and underslung weapons- I hope we get a few wild rider type heads in a possible kit.
I still don't imagine that GW would still on a release of this size in this way. I'm sure that while the design work for many models get done they don't get ramped up to full production, put in boxes taking up warehouse space to gather dust for a year. Six months out, possibly- bringing it in for a January release maybe?

Could be Nuadhu Fireheart, Wild Rider of the Saim-hann. In older editions he was basically a flying dreadnought to represent him fighting in close combat from his Vyper, but he would be an excellent candidate for the Chariot vehicle rules now, like the Necron Command Barge.

I think it has been said that she has an eye on her helmet, which reminds me of the Ulthwe rune. I coulds see her as a black guardian character (black guardian/Black Warden...), which could mean the return of the Black Guard of Ulthwe

Like many of you have said... I desperately want to believe. I've been waiting for new Eldar for a looong time (still my biggest love in 40k), and seeing the detail and elegance of the DE plastics I just can't wait to see what they can pull off for Eldar.
Having said this: wasn't there a rumour regarding plastic Swooping Hawks? It seems weird, what with Sanguinary Guard, Scourges and the rumoured Raptors in plastic they'd release a resin jump infantry?

Anyway, we have a way of assessing the truth in this rumour: it gives a quite detailed description of the new Eldar flyer. Apparently that one comes out sooner than the rest (if it is part of the rumoured flyer wave), so we can compare how it looks to the description made here. Of course one could say that it's not the same flyer or whatever, but hey, it's something.
