It's been ages since I posted anything but a new job, new house and new baby all in the past year have taken up all my spare time. 6th edition and the new flyers were the spark I needed to MAKE time for my hobbies again.
Anyway, there's a Giant Ork Bomma I'm wanting to build as well as 3 or 4 Dakka Jets.

Great work! The P38 wings pass very well with the bomba. I suppose it is 1/48 kit?
An idea could be to shorten a bit the rear of the main body to have more place between the reactor and the tail.
Cannot wait to see it finished.

It's a 1/48th scale p-38 kit. You can find them on EBay for 10.00 dollars or so + shipping.
I must admit that I got caught up in the "looks" of it all and failed to realize that by converting it from dual props to dual jets that they now need to exhaust that thrust somewhere in the back..... Doh!
The Top Sekret Suppa Bomma is going to be a mash-up of three kits....

I'm trying to scratchbuild an Ork jet at the moment (no pics as yet), so your ideas are very inspirational and insightful.

To solve the 2 jets problem, how about: Make the air vents on the inner sides of each tailplane boom bigger, then have some pipes going from them into the regular jet nozzles on the fuselage, so that the main engine at the back then becomes the main exhaust for both engines?

I was able to get a little work done on the Top Sekret Suppa Bomma yesterday. I'm sure some folks may recognize where I'm going with this...IE what plane it reminds them of.
I took a lot of pictures so I'll try and get them sorted into an online album but for now, here are a few.

Is the Big Bomma a larger version of the one they had in the movie 'Raiders of the Lost Ark'?
(I don't know if that was a real plane, or a fictitious one, though).

You nailed it! That's what I'm basing it on. The plane in the movie was designed specifically for the movie and while it was based off of several "real" planes, it was ultimately just a prop. It was built in England by an aircraft manufacturer, dismantled and shipped to Tunisia for the filming of the movie.Originally Posted by andyg2006

Sekret Suppa Bomma Update
Quick update to show I've not abandoned yet another project
Next to a Dakka Jet.
Salvaged landing gear bits from some old GI-Joe toy. Note that there's no tires/wheels yet and that those are just the rims the bit came with.
Trying to hold one of the engines in place while I snap a picture. It's big an unwieldy so it's hard to get good pics until I get a bit more of it glued down.

Sorry for the long delay in updates folks.
I pinned (coat hanger) and mounted the two main landing gears which will just remain in a down position even in flight. Heck, they're Orks, they don't need no stinkin retractable landing gear anyway.
The Meks mounted the engine nacelles only to discover that their prop blades are too long for the ground clearance given by the landing gears.
New cockpit looted from a Space Marine Stormtalon.
