Thread: 2 queries, look out sir and zooming stormraven.

2 queries, look out sir and zooming stormraven.

Apologies if these have already come up, but i can't seem to find the answer.

    1) how does look out sir work in an over killed squad. Example- squad of 2 wytches and 1 wych character. Equad takes 5 no armour save wounds. 2 are allocated on the squad killing them, the character then usese look out sir on the remaining 3 wounds. These are then effectively negated as the squad was gonna die anyway. Is that right?

    2) how does the grey knight summoning power affect zooming storm ravens?

    Thanks

You can't use look out, sir if there is no friendly model within 6" of the character.

Does that count if the shots are all resolved at the same time?

Techninally you allocate wounds one by one. So once you have succeeded on 2 look out, sir rolls and shifted wounds to you plebs you can't look out, sir again.

aye you allocate around the unit, then look out sir, then roll saves ( i think)

matt_17 is right. Since they probably all have the same save, you're going to roll the saves together, and then remove models one at a time. If the character is last to go, you can't LookOutSir because there are no friendly models in the same unit within 6" by the time you roll it.

If they don't all have the same save (different cover? Lillith?), then you'd roll the saves for them one at a time, but you'd still be out of other friendly models by the time anything got allocated to the character.

In 6th edition, unlike 5th edition, it's difficult for wounds to go "poof" until a squad is wiped out.

Look Out Sir! us hard to fast roll. You are restricted by the remaning wounds on the model as well as the remaning models in the unit. Whichever is the smalest is the max amount of LoS! rolls you should be taking at a time and they should be fully resolved befor moving on to the next set of would allocations. If you roll more than that then you could break the LoS! rule and give your character more protection than it deserves, or it could end up with more wounds allocated to it than it can take. I saw a guy roll all his LoS! at once today to a plasma cannon shot and hr failed 5 out of 6 and tryed to put them all on his 1 wound sargent and the one that passed on to an assault marine up the back. It was so wrong. People get angry when you interupt them so I corrected them on the point after thay finished.

In the example above though you would not get any LoS! if there are no other Wytches or ICs in the unit.
I'll think of something appropriate soon enough to put here.
