Last time they tried to release it, GW sent them a C&D. I imagine that's why they're offering it separately this time.

Love it! Will definitely be picking it up (I liked the manticore, but I thought the lamassu was amazing).
Don't think that will be happening this time around. GW have been playing the bully for a long time by claiming exclusive rights to anything related to the Warhammer Universe. However, with the bloody nose they received in their lawsuit against Chapter House, it has become clear that the GW position on what is or is not legal for smaller companies to produce is nothing more than their own position, and that the actual laws about intellectual property are very different from the GW interpretation.
It is out of stock on the CMON site and the Raging Heroes site makes no mention of it other than the old 'removed at GWs request' statement on the manticore store page.

It was never available separately from Raging Heroes. It was a new release from CMON (which has now sold out) and has not yet been added to the Raging Heroes site from what I can tell.
Also, previously it was a Shedu/Lamassu head. This is a Shedu/Sphinx head, so definitely a new label on the piece compared to when it was pulled. I think it should be added to the RH site soon enough. Whoever has the Manticore and Shedu head available simultaneously will be getting an order from me.
Which is what I find odd. Why does CMON have it but Raging Heroes doesn't? Raging Heroes are usually quite good at updating their blog with new releases and previews of same.

*shrugs* They had a new contract with CMON, so maybe there was a premium paid, or a larger purchase was made in compensation for getting the Shedu heads first or something? Or it could be that there was a production delay, and they made sure they could fulfill CMONs order (avoiding penalties for late delivery, or just ensuring their new partner gets great service) before producing enough to offer it for sale direct. Lots of reasons it would be available from CMON before it went onto their website. Possibly as simple as them having technical issues that need dealing with on their website before updating is possible/feasible.
This tends to happen regularly with Coolminiornot due to it being a well known and popular international site. For example there is a limited batch of new Wrath of Kings miniatures on Coolminiornot that you can't get anywhere else not even on the Wrath of Kings website until Gencon Indy this August. I gather this might be a similar situation with Raging heroes. Also I believe this is the first time Raging Heroes products have been made available on Coolminiornot site.
