Does anyone make "not-(video game character)" models?

I know there are plenty of not-Buffies and not-The Doctors out there, but how about some not-Marios or not-Links? I would especially be interested in stand-ins for the Belmonts of Castlevania, Samus Aran, the cast of Mass Effect, Rygar, the casts of Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat, or even a not-Doom Guy. Any other game mentions are also welcome. Thanks!

PS: I think I know where to get some Blizzard-alike models...

He also makes a Commander Shepard too. He will most likely sculpt any of the others for you but charge a pretty penny in doing so

How about a huge set of not-Suikoden characters? YAY! not-Phantasy Star Online models would also be nice.

Mortal Kombat, Total Annihilation and Quake 1 would be very appealing to me.

Studio McVey are making a limited edition not-Isaac Clarke for their Sedition Wars Kickstarter. If anyone wants him, you could find someone already involved and ask them to add him to their pledge.

Black Cat Bases have a Claptrap from Borderlands. They also have a couple of Fallout 3/New Vegas robots.

Tales of War have a God of War.

Edit: Tales of War also do a brilliant figure that can be converted into a Devil May Cry 1-4 Dante. He just needs some pistols and sleeves, though the sleeveless look doesn't seem out of place for Dante.

There's these not-Battlefield modern soldiers from Hasslefree Miniatures.

Once, long ago, Reaper Miniatures made a set of miniatures based on Doom and Doom II, and Fantasy Flight Games make boardgames, with miniatures, based on Doom 3 (sadly now out of production) and Gears of War.

In roughly 28mm scale, honestly you could do worse than the Wizkids Halo and Streetfighter Heroclix figures. I think a lot of people are automatically averse to them because they're pre-painted collectible minis rather than tabletop wargamong pieces, but at least the Halo stuff is actually quite nice on detail and could easily be re-painted if you wanted to. The range is also very expansive, with spartans armed with all kinds of weapons, Noble Team, marines and ODST, and most covenant troop types. I don't have any of their Streetfighter minis so I'm not sure how they compare.

For Mario, similarly I'm not aware of any "not-Mario" gaming pieces, but there are the Furuta collectible figurines which I believe are about 1-1.5" tall. They might be a bit big to mix with other figures, but if you wanted to do a Mario-only game then those would be a good source.

Since the above are all licensed products they won't be "not-characters" and look just like their video game counterparts, which is a plus.

I don't know of any "not-Link" models per se, but he couldn't be very difficult to convert either.

In 15mm scale both Khurasan and Ground Zero Games have a range of "not-Spartans," and Khurasan also has a range that looks to me a lot like the combine soldiers from Half-Life 2.

Dunno about Samus Aran, but if anyone finds one let me know! The Metroid series is my favorite video game setting.

If I think of any others I'll post them.

The great thing about the dwarves is that, even though there's this comic element, when they fight - they really fight!

I'm sure I remember seeing those New Israeli models years before Halo ever came out.

Saw these today on TTGN and thought of this thread - they're not all VG characters - but I saw a Bayonetta, RE Jill, Gears of War (I think?) Marine, maybe 1-2 others.

Oh they may well have, I've only fairly recently discovered GZG. Regardless of whether or not they were ever intended to be "not-spartans," though, they certainly make a very good 15mm substitute.
