... *is cautiously optimistic*
Not able to view YouTube at work, but given the last few seasons of Red Dwarf, I wouldn't get over-excited.
Mat Ward Fact #64001- Mat Ward has been described as willowy with elven features.
looks vaguely promising, perhaps going back to the older style.
obviously wont get too excited until more is known.

I see the same fear in you that would take the heart of me,
but fear not for we don't auto break and can re-roll for it next turn.

a day may come when Ewar doesn't powergame, but it is not this day
This day our dice will roll sixes
This day we will be victorious!

Caustious optimism mode, engage...
I'll give a try, hopefully it will be as good as the old ones.

I love red dwarf, for some reason i got it into my head that they would not do any more, so this is a nice surprise :-)
as above, lets just hope its as good as we hope.

I don't think we could get it back to the standard of 'classic era' episodes, but as long as its funny enough, doesn't add lines that are just advertising for the channel and try anything meta again, I should be happy enough.
The actors looked old enough in the last series. Now age is really getting to them. Craig Charles just looks tired.

I have a plog now! Now with actual painted models
It scares me how old everyone looks. If they can age, so can I... this might actually, if they've gone past the desperate midlife crisis of the last few seasons, make for some interesting plots.
Anyway, my first thought on seeing that was "wow it looks just like series 3-6," in that I felt I'd seen it before. This isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Furthermore, I believe Carthage should be destroyed.
So I watched the trailer last night and my thoughts were:
1) Eeek - I hope this is good!
2) Craig Charles looks really old
3) Kryten looks...odd...
4) Studio audience = big thumbs up
5) Rubbish special effects and scale models FTW!
6) I laughed twice - which is twice more in 55 seconds than the whole of Season 7 plus the Back To Earth specials
Overall I think cautious optimism is the right attitude as the signs are good but the horror of the last few outings still looms large...

Reasons not to hate Mat Ward #112: Mr Ward speaks fluent Jokaero and spent time in the Balikpapan Orangutan Sanctuary developing a realistic syntax & verb structure - Ook ok ook!
Guild up to join the Mat Ward Defence League!
At least there's a studio audience this time, it didn't feel right without it.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that. I put it down to watching a Youtube trailer whilst tired (I'd just got back from work), but I thought in a few shots Krytie looked almost hook-nosed and in one, although I think it's just down to shadows and lighting he looks almost like he's got a black eye! Similarly a couple of times I thought Cat's hair looked a bit like it had been molded from solid plastic. Still, if that's all I can complain about I'll be a happy little camper.3) Kryten looks...odd...
As for them aging that really doesn't bother me. So long as it doesn't end up becoming Last of the Summer Wine in space...
I think the actor who plays him, Danny John-Jules, is bald, so maybe his hair is plastic! At least I think he's gone bald.
Imagine going; would have been pretty awesome I bet! I suppose the audience must have been sworn to secrecy or something, otherwise we'd have heard ore about the series, concerining plot etc...
What? Three old farts going downhill in a bathtub! RD will never sink that low. Its Three middle aged farts doing into deep space in Starbug
Have to say, after the awful last few series, they could only really go up. That or just ignore the last few series and do a reboot![]()

There was, I thought you started it? Unfortunately the ticket website crashed within seconds of the Red Dwarf tickets becoming available, and as such they started taking ticket applications via email on a first come first served basis. However they only advertised this on thier Twitter feed and as such for all of us that weren't following it on Twitter or didn't have Twitter up at the time missed out quite unfairly.![]()
Danny John Jules still looks as awesome as the Cat as he did 20 years ago. The man never ages.
Forget cautious: Optimistic, very much so. I'm a bit of a die hard fan though, i can't bring myself to hate the recent series'.
