    The tiny army

After about 10 years break from the hobby, i started again and found a group that played warhammer fantasy.
Now one year and some months gone i started a new army. After checking with my group they allowed me to use a unofficial armybook that i found on the web.
The Halflings, a really fun army. I have tried to play them as Empire or Goblins but it just didnt have the same feel.
Sure i wanted to buy only GW halflings, but i dont have the budget for it.
So to get me to finish the army i started my first ever painting log.
Its my first log so im gonna make some mistakes and the spelling will be off some times.
But here we go. The halflings...

That is a truly wonderful collection of models. It's great how you were able to unify them and yet they are still a collection of individuals.

Cool stuff? Where is the Halflings from (appart from the three GW ones that I spoted), or have you sculpted them all yourself?

And I really, really like those Ogres!

Most of them are from thebattleforge. They have a bit of old school feeling about them. And a nice price tag.
Also have some from reapers and a few other manufactures.
Gonna post some more pics later this evening when I get some time. Got a bad camera so I got to brighten up the pictures a bit before posting.

Ok here we go again. Going to post them after unit name from the unofficial halfling book.

    The Dawg Riders.
Made them from wolf riders and greenstuffed them together with some archers. Tried to make them more look like huskies then wolfs but... yeah don't know

    Re: The tiny army

My warrior priest for the games when I try to play them as empire, with his faithful dog.

My fire mage (a gnome sculpt) but I think he passes for a halfling

And another hero, a bit more combat

And my test model of a "swan rider". To be honest I cant find a swan big enough to ride and still look ok for warhammer.
If you have any ides of where to find one please let me know. This one is a bit big, but works for now, I need/want 6 of them.

Would love some comments and critic

Had a 5k fight tonight with my halflings 3500 p and 1500 p dwarfs, against wood elfs 5k. We got to turn 7, by that time I was wiped off the board, It was a even game until turn 4 i think then it went downhill.
But it was a fun game with a lot of laughs.

So cool to see someone doing something really different. I love the general, he so well done. Good tone to the army too, it's difficult to make retro models look good now-a-days. Keep it going man.

    Re: The tiny army

Thank you for all the comments.
Lt Dougheim: When I had the idea of the halfling army, I searched and looked at a lot of halfling armys and your was one of the armys that got me inspired to take the idea to reality.

So I still got a few units thats painted to show you.
The housewifes. In games I run them 30 strong, so im still missing a lot wifes for now its unit fillers and a few halfling men that takes the spots in the back ranks. And half of them are female dwarfs.

    Re: The tiny army

I have a bit over 4000 pts if I use the unpainted stuff. Aiming to get 5k done at the end of the year. I have a Demon, Dwarf and Brettonia armys so im hoping not to get side tracked (to much) with new models and maybe army books until then.

I am working on another ogre right now, but summer and the kids wanting to play outside gives me less time to paint. So instead I give you my spearmen.

And the halfling book has a unit "beeswarms" after the first couple fights I got tired of using rat swarm models. So I put together this. Not my best work, but it works.
Now I just need some cool models for bee-keepers.
