Orcs & Goblins by far is one of the best - doesn't matter what you throw together (apart from poor Snotlings) it works!!!

Vampire Counts is a close second as they have so many useable choices in their book now - its amazing!

Dark Elves come third by dint of having like 1-2 crappy units - but the balance is false as the point allocation is old, redundant, and abusive - i.e. this book needs an update!!!

Ogres - also another really good book for internal balance

Tomb Kings - to me this book is great but it's a challenging book - and you have to be of a certain skill level I feel to make the multiple builds work

Empire has the lowest balance of the new 8th ed books but still has LOTS of options to build all kinds of lists. But the book struggles as the points fill up fast!!!

finally Daemons of Chaos of Chaos - it's an old book but it's a great book for internal balance - even if that balance is skewed compared to other books!

I can't think of anything outright bad in the Vampire Counts book. Some things might be a little sub-par like the Black Coach but still I can think of a reason to take every unit.
    Thousand Sons/Daemons of Tzeentch/Vampire Counts

There is a way through the coming darkness. But to find it we must change.

We must change and change until Change is our master, for nothing neither god nor mortal can hold that which has no form. Change is the constant that cannot be changed.

TBH i'm actually gonna say dark elves you can literally take anything you want and it will still perform well, obviously some choices mix better with others but there are really not any auto-includes, except dragon lords ofc
I'll tell you what mate; the fact that you've gotten 100% positive replies on Warseer of all places is as sure a sign as any that you should start the army.

Knowledge: Know your own and opponents armies rules and units.
Experience: Good grasp of tactics and how rules impact on this.
Luck: At least getting an average deal from the dice.
Psych: Sometimes you can convince the opponent they are facing an uphill battle.

Vampire Counts for me, the whole book can be used to effect and still be competitive without being OP or cheesy.

Best Internal Balance. - Vampire Counts - The new book is so sweet, I look at the specials and rare's and almost weep as the points are gone too quickly.

Worst Internal Balance. - Empire - As primarily an Empire player I was bitterly dissapointed with the hounding which some units took (Flagellants, Mortar and Swordsmen) but I guess the first two were kind of auto-includes beforehand. However the new units do seem good.... I wonder why that is though?

Vampire counts is a fantastic model for internal balance, there are a couple of units that could have been better but overall almost everything in the book is fun to play with. Ogres are much better than before and are overall 'probably' a more powerful book but there are a few options (more than VC) that can be considered sub par and won't see play very often. Also the Vampires magic and special powers are very good, there are a couple of bad eggs but overall they are very good........Ogres have some very poor options with only a few being regularly taken.

Empire has taken a step back to what we are used to seeing, new powerful units with a large chunk of the old getting left behind. I guess this is good for short term sales becuase everyone buys the new 'toys' but people will buy them anyway aslong as they are not underpowered. It is just sad that after some really good books they couldn't get the internal balance as perfect as OnG and Vampire counts.
