Honestly as a fellow dark elf player i have found knights highly ineffective. i would drop them and put in either witches or executioners

Please explain why you find them useless, and Why you would take the other options, thanks.

And why drop the one unit he is required to take for his campaign?
anyhow the knights always work very well for me, even headon charges are no problem

They're "stupid", lol they are too expensive for what they do, or don't do for that matter. The points could be better sent on executioners or witches who can receive buffs from cauldron. I prefer executioners with the Ward save buff to a bus of knights. This opinion is coming from many games and tournaments and many GTs of experience.
I recently played in a 1500 tournament against brettonians, lizardmen, and skaven and managed to win all three games. I chose not to run a lord level sorceress in the list and was able to win all my games. At so low points it's bests not to depend so much on one character to make the army work. It's not hard to get assassinated at low points, not get the dice you need, or miscast to just ruin your day. So I went with a level 2 with a tome. Kept it cheap and if she dies it didn't matter as much but if she lived the well placed buff turned the combats in my favor. Just my 2 cents that you could consider.
stupidity doesn't hinder me, failed charges do, i feel they provide a nice flanking hammer with very good mobility, what they don't destroy usually get tied up untik the corsairs or black guard arrive.
maybe witches or executioners are better choices but i don't own the models (dislike the sculpts of the witches and find the metals/finecast too expensive to buy atm)
taking a lvl 4 at 1500pts is a gamble indeed, if she does her job without getting killed it really pays off, if she dies that's a lot of points gone. against chaos i thought it' be worth it . i'm very curious what list you took, care to share it with us?

yea i dont like the witch sculpts either and i am definitely NOT a fan of Citadel FailCast its too expensive and there are bubbles and gaps all over my models =/
My list is by no means spectacular especially by internet expectations but I make it work by playing the missions and deploying well. But in 1500 in this tourney I ran:
Lvl2 metal sorceress with tome
death hag w bsb hag graef
24 spears with shield and command
42 spears with shield and command
10 crossbows
27 executioners with command
7 shades
hydra
Fortitude: 6
I was going to go with a level 4 at first but the more I thought about it, the more I realized she was one suicide charge by flyers away from gutting my army so I cut her down to a level 2 added a scroll to give me more flexibility in the magic phase and spread the points to up my units ranks. So yeah... Food for thought.
looks like a solid well lrounded list to me![]()
Do you find that your BSB dies easily ?

my bsb has never died before. i'll be adding units to the list because the rematch will be at 2000 or 2400 pt level at the end of the moment, i'll surely add blackguard and 2nd hydra

Do I find that my BSB dies easily? You know she should die real easy but she doesn't die. If I were to guess why, I think its because I haven't gone against someone who's running death yet, I use my chaff and crossbowmen to intercept enemy chaff that want to kamikaze into her, and when I get into combat it's usually a favorable combat where had she died it would not matter because I either obliterated the enemy they hit or I fluffed and her death is only the icing on a cake on a already loss cause. So I think that while on paper she should die if my opponent allocates a little bit of his resources to accomplish it, what actually happens in game is that she happens to be accompanied by an entire other army and that my opponent can only allocate so much of his resource to kill her without over extending, so if I play smart I can anticipate and intercept those threats, it will prolong her life long enough. So unless I get hit with an irresistible snipe spell she'll generally be okay.
