Don't get me wrong, you can cherrypick to your hearts desire, that's your prerogative, and your own interpretation is as valid as the next, but post-1994 fluff is concerned, it's as valid, if not more valid, than the older fluff.
My problem with that is that GW isn't adding or changing the fluff. They're just contradicting, and going back and forth. And I don't mean they contradict the old fluff, they're continually contradicting themselfs in the stuff they add.

I'm not cherry picking. I just feel that if you want the warhammer fluff to make any sense you probably have to stop at the point where it's still linear. You simply can't discuss warhammer fluff by incorperating the new material because the new material just goes back and forth between screw ups, with the next screw up trying to fix the previous one.

So you can either take the old fluff and have a discussion. Or take the new fluff and go around in circles because nothing adds up. Cherry picking or playing favorites has nothing to do with it.

To be fair, while other animal beastmen are then and again mentioned, there have always been the focus on the goatpeople... alternate models were even back in the days vastly outnumbered by the "standard" Gor, and mentioned in the background as seen as second class by the Caprigors.

The only real exeption being the cow-headed ones, and that was becaue they did have horns after all, and to no small degree that they came under the the protection of the Minotaurs (affectionately called "little calves"), so the goatmen didn't dare bully them...

Wolf, fish, cat, etc., usually showed up as minor bands of outcasts to be slaugthered by Gotreg & Felix or the WHFRP Player charcters. Not unusually they were mutated cultist as well, rather than born beastmen.

I actually like what they did with Chaos Marauders, BDSM outfits aside. Previously in Chaos you had a few social renegades from the Old World who flee up into the northern wastes, spend decades wandering about randomly killing each other then somehow transform into this endless horde of warriors: all with WS5 and all with Chaos Armour.

Now with chaos marauders we at least have some explanation of where all their endless horde of manpower comes from. Meanwhile the traitors from the Old World still exist, just look at Archeon.

Yeah its dragons willingly serving elves because they know they don't have much choice- making the best of a bad situation. Can't be that bad serving elves. Still get to fly around and eat stuff.

    And sleep. A lot.

Basically they can do whatever the heck they want, and just let some elves ride them merely because they allow it.

By now i recon the bearded one is right, they caved to caledor dragontamer before the vortex was created. No elf today holds even a shred of his power.

If they can make a daemon primarch I dont see why dragons couldnt be. If the dragon were willing that is.
