    Sure, people would be able to field Kroot Mercs that way. But as noted in the second set of rumors, GW wants army X to look like army X. Taking away the 1+ while keeping non-Tau troops allows for (*in their opinion*) armies that don't look inspiring or cohesive.

    They've shown this philosophy as far back as 2nd edition, splitting Chaos into three lists (Marines, Cults, and Daemon World Armies). During 3rd they split Imperial Agents up into two codices, and more recently they again split Daemons off into their own codex. Now Tau may be getting the same treatment.

    I just don't see why our codex needs to be butchered so that other armies can feild a variety of xenos units......if you want to field an army using a variety of xenos units you could um I don't know play Tau?
    Sorry no GW I will not pay twice the $$$ to buy from retail stores in Australia and no amount of adds to the hobby, support you FLGS bulldung is going to change the fact your charging twice as much.

    I dont think the XV9 auto passes hit and run. if they to give the XV8 Hit and run and the abandon drones rule than thay will need to boost the XV9 back up a bit. so auto pass hit and run would be good for it and better BS for snap shot.

    Farsight should have eternal warrior and be the Tau Monstrous creature

    XV-9s should stay forgeworld. I hope GW does not use them as a base for new Tau models as well.

    If we are wishlisting now, I want a networked markerlight to become a suit system option.

    sorry the do my bad but only if they have drones to sacrifice, also explanes why R'alai has 2 marker drones still messes with the overall toughness though (T3 instead of 5 till a Marker drones dies)

    A Kroot Ally list would be a dream, but I highly doubt it...
