So I was playing a game against a friend of mine a few days ago....
My seraphim jumped behind one of his DE Raiders and shot it up with Bolt pistols until it died. 9 Chaos Space Marines jumped out and he said that I could assault them with the Seraphim.
From when I used to play 40k, you couldn't assault the contents of a transport if you shot the transport itself. Is that no longer true?

Huh. I thought the exception which allows you to charge the contents of a transport you destroyed goes all the way back to the introduction of the rule that you must charge the unit you shot, if any. Anyway, it certainly exists now (and has for quite some time).
More importantly, though, what the heck were a bunch of Chaos Space Marines doing riding around in a Dark Eldar Raider?
EDIT: I clicked my quote in your signature. Interesting that we were arguing the role of increasing randomness around the release of 5th edition. I think it's rather more justified in 6th!

Just for the record: page 80, last bit under 'Effect of damage of passangers', you can charge the unit that came crashing out of the transport you just destroyed.

Or, indeed, a transport that you shot at but failed to destroy; provided that it is subsequently destroyed in that shooting phase.
This edition it seems like everyone who shoot at the vehicle can charge the contents.

thats a distictive difference for 5th edition.
Chaos space marines are not allowed to board a DE raider: read the chart page 113. DE & CSM are desperate allies. And not even battle brothers can embark dedicated transports like the raiders.

Thats understandable... they look alike..
Lets face it, by the sounds of things some of you people couldn't complete a game of snakes and ladders without running off to the internet to whine that snakes are broken and ladders are too powerful...

Actually, it is. In 5th the unit that destroyed it could assault the passengers. In 6th any unit that shot at the transport can assault the passengers.
Personally, I think they meant it to work this way in 5th also, but didn't write the rule correctly.
Lets face it, by the sounds of things some of you people couldn't complete a game of snakes and ladders without running off to the internet to whine that snakes are broken and ladders are too powerful...
