Have the Alpha Legion and the Ultramarine clashed since the death of their primarchs?

We all know the story of how Guilliman and Alpharius (or maybe Omegon) fought each other in a battle that ended with the death of one of the twins or maybe (if you take the story about the Alpha legion in The Primarchs) one who was imitating one of the twins.

Anyways my question is has there, since the death of Alpharius and the placement of Guilliman in stasis, been any mayor battle between those two legions or has it only been minor skirmishes??

And if there has been some mayor battles between those two legions who won this time?

It's pointed out in the Alpha Legion Index Astartes article that the purported author was identified as an Alpha Legion operative before disappearing, calling the story of Guilliman off-ing Alpharius into question. TO top that off, it's also been pointed out that the Ultramarines themselves have no record of such a battle taking place.

It's highly, highly likely that Alpharius and Omegon and both alive and kicking, trying to figure out their next move after the Cabal's plan failed.


From an out-of-universe perspective, the Alpha Legion IA, while laying down and affirming a lot of the secrecy and duplicity the Alpha Legion got in "Legion," at the time Alpharius was implied to be a stand-out from his Astartes, though less so than the other Primarchs. He didn't trade places, wasn't a twin, etc.

And yes, "The A-Team"... "The Serpent Beneath" was awesome, but I'd assume the Ultramarines would a) know their primarch killed another one and b) noticed that Alpharius went down rather quickly, for a Primarch...

Supposition:
- Alpharius and Omegon are being set up for a climactic duel (of the fates).
- The Ultramarines deny all knowledge of the supposed killing of Alpharius.


Alpharius didn't die: Alpharius was posing as Guilliman! The Guilliman vs Alpharius fight wasn't that at all, it was Alpharius posing as Guilliman fighting against Omegon posing as Alpharius!

It's entirely possible then that, after deployment of the codex, Guilliman allowed himself to be impersonated, somehow suspecting that it'd be a way to infiltrate the infiltrators! It's not Guilliman in the stasis field on Macragge, it's Alpharius (posing as Guilliman) - it was Alpharius! Alpharius had killed Omegon in the earlier fight and (before completion of the infiltration) ended up in conflict with Fulgrim! What happened to Guilliman? Nobody knows!

We don't know the limits of the Primarch's powers. Perhaps it's possible. I like it. I'll fetch my tinfoil hat.

Given the extensive networks of the Alpha Legion and a span of ten millennia having passed, I think its safe to say that the Alpha Legion and Ultramarines have met each other since the Heresy/Scouring, indirectly or directly.

Major battles? Probably not the alpha legion is known for its infiltration and secret wars, i dont think the legion would want to reveal its assests unless it absolutley needed and only on its own terms.

10 000 years is a lot of time for any legion not to clash with a FF Chapter.
Also there's that fluff with that one guy claiming to be Alpharius orchestrated the destruction of a whole UM successor chapter.
