Partly because theres a WW2 one, but mainly because it will help with my Revision for my summer exams![]()
An easy one to begin with.
Name Germanys Master plan in which they planned to win the war within four weeks.

Well done Storm Hunters. The LF were my great-grandad's regiment in the war but he was in a different battalion (one of the Salford ones). His hellholes were in France not Turkey.
Anyhow, over to you mate.

ok, in the echo of the fist post what was the prewar plan the french made to win the war in weeks?
its in a simmaler vain to the schliffen plan. I belive it involved an all out push though Allsass lorainn (sp) to force a halt to the German advance on Paris.
Plan XVII which was to succeed on the basis of "elan".
WDL record with my Swooping Hawk themed Eldar list:-
W: 2,836
D: 2 (I felt sorry for my opponents and started firing at my own units)
L: 1 (I played against myself using my undefeated footslogging Fire Warrior list and lost)
that is correct, your go spell.
At what battle did the British Mark I tank debut?
Before you go "easy, it was at The Somme" that is correct but I want the name of the specifc battle of The Somme offensive during which it was first used.

flers coucette or something similar where they were used badly as I remember.
Battle of Flers-Courcelette
You are correct Ozorik.
This is a great chain quiz thread. I often find that WW1 is the forgot war of the 20th Century. I would even argue it was the most significant event, more so than WW2.

If WW1 is the forgotten war, then what is the Russo Japanese war? WW1 is at least mentioned in the history books..
Defiance hurled at Cao Cao's mighty host
arrayed near Long Slope proclaimed Zhao Zilong,
a valiant man, and peerless he stood till.
At Lolja another hero faced,
alone, another host, and Wen Yang's name
was added to the roll of famous people.

True, but would you say WW1 had a greater world impact then the Russo-Japanese War? Sure, the Battle of Tsushima Straits was a big deal in Naval history, but did not cause any cultural/social upheavals world wide.
In the states we mention it, but only because our President (Teddy Roosevelt?) helped to negotiate it's end.
Perhaps we could start a Forgotten Wars thread? I'm sure in the 20th century alone we could come up with a pretty long list.

Yup it was Teddy. The odd thing is that the treaty was signed in New Hampshire![]()

I'd say the ultimate forgotten 20th century war is the Russo-Polish War of 1920. If the Poles hadn't stopped the Red Army during the Battle of Warsaw then they would have spread across Europe linking up with communists in Germany and elsewhere and the history of Europe would have been very different indeed.

Umm how about the 1905 revolution that forced the Tsar to bring back the duma and sped up the radicalisation of the people laying the seeds for both Kerensky and LeninTrue, but would you say WW1 had a greater world impact then the Russo-Japanese War? Anyway here is a good Jutland question for you given the anniversary
Who was the Rear Admiral, 1st battle squadron and what was his flagship at the battle of Jutland?
What do you mean 'Flash Gordon approaching'?
Would all section 7 personnel report for decontamination in the decontamination unit in the decontamination block for immediate decontamination
with a few exceptions no one but Jellicoe has a clue
Admiral Jellicoe?
"So, Bill, what you're telling me, essentially, is that Napoleon was a short dead dude."
close but no cigar - he was the commander in chief
Rear Admiral Duff, flagship HMS Superb
he went on to command the anti submarine and convoy section of the admiralty in 1917/18
