    Mordheim online campaign (sign up and test game battle report)

    So last week i posted a system for playing mordheim online, we are now hoping to run a campaign of this over this forum, we have played a test game to check the system is functioning, using dicelog.com 's server

    Will post this test game turn by turn below and after that anyone interested in taking part please sate on this board and we can the organise the first games, any official warbands are welcome (Shadow elves having been removed as an official list)

    so please just state interest and warband you intend to use

    Test game, scenario skirmish
    warbands :
    Middenheim (bsucbe)
    Captain with hammer and axe
    Champion with double handed weapon
    Champion with spear and buckler
    Youngblood with double handed weapon
    Youngblood with spear and buckler
    2x swordsman with sword
    3x marksman with crossbow

    Averland:
    Captain with sword and club
    Sergeant with sword and club
    Bergjaeger with longbow, hunting arrows and 2 clubs
    Bergjaeger with longbow, hunting arrows and 2 clubs
    Youngblood 2 clubs
    3x Halflings with bow and 2 clubs
    Mountain guard with sword and club

    Turn one
    A
    verland get the first turn, the missile troops climb up to the roof of the house and unlesh a volley, missing everything, a melee group advance and the youngblood obviously doubting his ability with clubs decides to hide in the house and wait for it all to be over. The middenheim melee troops advance along either flank while the marksmen attempt to climb up onto the roof, only one succeeding.

    Turn two
    The averland CC troop continue to advance and the missile group target the middenheim captain who promptl gets stunned, to the disamay of his accompanying youngbloods who continue to advance, as do the other flanks unit, the two marksman again fail to climb the the building while the loner on the roof lets off a single bolts which misses its intended target.

    Turn 3
    The
    averland captain and his companions advance into the central tower complex and the archer contingent send a flurry of ineffective arrows at the dowed captain, the middeheim youngblood start to move around the tower while the champions emerge from out of their sheltered path seeing the fielf of battle before them, giving up on trying to climb a middenheim marksman looses a bolt at the sergeant which efficiently takes him out of action, no other missiles hit home.

    Turn 4
    The averland captain and mountain guard charge the isolated young bloods and the second middenheim CC unit send one champion in against the captain to assist the inexperienced youngblood, in shooting the middenheim captain is finally put out of his misery and taken OOA. while the marksman on the roof finally hits his mark and removes a Bergjaeger from the table, combat was highly active with the averland captain felling the champion only to be knocked down by the plucky youngblood he initially charged, while the mountain guard swiftly dealt with his opponent leaving him stunned on the ground

    Turn 5
    The averland reputation with their bows comes to the fore as a single volley fells in total a champion and swordsman while the concious youngblood has his head bludgeoned by a club, so when it came to the middenheim movement phase a rout test was required, and relying on a solitary youngblood to lift his troops spirits, they leg it, leaving the averlanders cheering on the rooftops

    Generaly a realy fun game to play, a few issues which need ironing out (weather roof counts as cover e.c.t) but yep great game, hoping we get a campaign going, not sure weather to go avalanders or sisters of sigmar

    End game
    Averland:
    Both the bergjaeger and sergeant are killed by their wounds
    however penty of experience all around
    captain on 23
    bergjaeger on 6
    youngblood on 1
    halflings on 2
    mountain guard on 1

    Middenheim
    Captain hates the entire enemy warband but fully recovers
    Champion gains stupidity
    Other champion has a leg wound
    while the youngblood and swordsman both fully recover

    experience is rather sparce here with the surviving youngblood, marksmen and swordsman gain experience, with marksmen gaining another 2 for their kills

    henchmen don't gain experience for kills.
    all surviving heroes/henchmen groups get at least 1 experience.

    Ouch, that game really hurt the averlanders, even though they won. How long did it take to make the maps/play the game?

    yer very bad injury rolls!
    the map was premade but you can draw up new ones pritty quickly
    the game took over night-did turns 1-2 one night, then finished up the morning after, so shouldn't take to much longer than an avrage game

    Yeah we could have fit it into a night easily if i hadnt taken so long to open the first deployment map! map dont seem too difficult to come up with and allow you to creat some interesting buildings.

    Also because it is done by email you can go back and forth from it rather than dedicating a block of time to it, so was thinking campaign (still needing warbands other than me and danny-d-b) would be everyone playing a weekly game while they can with battle reports posted on here so it can be followed by those not taking part

    I think we have said all the offical ones except the elven ones though its bsucbe's campain- still wondering what warband to take

    which reminds me which rules are we using for whips?

    yeah i was thinking any warband except the shadow elves, not a clue about whips, i have the rules from the GW website, would take on board any suggestions though. Think i will stick with those middenheimers tbh

    well the orignal just allowed them not to be parried- I think they then updarted them to give them a 4inch range as well

    Whatever general concensus is tbh, just looking forward to getting this started! @ Colonel_Kex good to have you onboard and what warband are you thinking of using?

    So from what i have gathered we now have four players willing to play (anyone else is more than welcome) so i will be the first to post my starting warband (Middenheim mercs)
    Graveth (Captain), Hammer and axe 73gc
    Alfrik (Champion), Doube handed weapon 50gc
    Valkar (Champion) Spear and buckler 50gc
    Ulfred (Youngblood), Doube handed weapon 30gc
    Jantor (Youngblood), Spear and buckler 30gc
    Ulrics claw (Swordsman x2), sword 90gc
    Blizzard men (Marksmen x3), crossbow and club 159gc

    Total cost of 482gc, treasury of 18gc
    warband rating of 86

    Hope to see the other warbands very soon so we can get the first games down!

    * Weapons/Armor: Cold One Beasthounds are animals and do not need any weapons save their claws and massive jaws.
    * Animals: Cold One Beasthounds are animals and all animal rules apply to them, they never gain experience.
    * Beastmaster: Cold One Beasthounds are nasty viscous brutes that are barely kept under control. If the Beastmaster dies the beasts will immediately escape from the warband and they are removed from the warband roster. If the Beastmaster is unable to participate in a battle, then neither will the beasts.
    * Stupidity: Cold One Beasthounds may use the basic Leadership of the Beastmaster if they are within 6" of him. They may never use the Leadership of the warband leader, nor may they benefit from the Beastmaster’s increased Leadership if he is within 6" of the leader.
    * Scaly Skin: Cold One Beasthounds have tough scaly skin, and are considered to have a 6+ armor save. This save cannot be modified beyond 6 due to strength modifiers but any result of ‘no save’ on the injury chart will negate the unmodified 6+ save.
    Fear: Cold One Beasthounds cause Fear.
