I hope not , this is there chance to have a right go with the legions as it's not 40k
These for the most part will be marine vrs marine battles
They sshould proper go to town with different stat lines to represent the difference in legions due to the gene
    seed

Unlikely they would go that far tbh, after all they are doing a add on, for sales perspective they would want them to be able to fit beside current codexes so I believe we will see rules more like the current FW marines, that they amend current codexes or such with additional rules/units but also take some options/rules away. After all, using wolves as an example (easiest) what's really changed since the crusades? Not much bar some minor unit changes and wargear.

This isn't really like any of the other IA books, though. These are stand alone, from what it sounds like they're not even really meant to mingle with regular 40K. So they may not use the SM codex as a base (perhaps other than stats, if even that), and make something completely unique. Who knows, though.

Yep. Really only need Dorn and Curze, but the prospect of proper, excellent looking, to-scale Primarchs makes me want to paint things just for the sake of painting them for the first time in... well ever.

They may even end up with more than 1 of each primarch. I could easily see them doing "pre-corruption" versions of the fallen primarchs, and then the same individual later in the heresy after their fall from Grace and corruption by Chaos.

I mean, most forces took part in the heresy

    - Raven Guard, Salamanders, Iron Hands were at istavaan
    - Blood Angels, Imperial Fists, and White Scars fought at the defense of the imperial palace
    - Dark Angels, Ultramarines, and Space Wolves were the least involved, but still the Wolves burned Prospero (one of the first Marine-on-Marine hate crimes of the Heresy), and the angels returned to Caliban to find half their force had fallen to chaos.

I could see 3 books at least
"The beginning" - Istavaan and Prospero
"The Seige" - the seige of the imperial palace
"The Aftermath" - Caliban, and the rebuilding by the ultramarines

Of course their could be others

    Quite.

Perhaps a finecast re-release would suffice for Russ then. Frees FW up to work on the others.

well, given how GW and FW marines are hardly in-scale with other models, I'm interested in seeing how they size the primarchs

I'm not wanting to be antagonistic, but isn't it a case that the space marines are in scale and everything else isn't?

The case is people keep changing the scale of Space Marines in the fluff
    The Tale of Guilders

That's just... like... your opinion, man.

First we'd need to figure out what that scale is... it's a long time since they were called 25mm scale thats for sure!

The games never really had true scale. In RT days, marines and guard models where often the same height and build. I suppose if marines where done to fluff scale then tbh they would need rules to suit as then they would have that disadvantage. And that's before you get into the realms of vehicle scale! Lets face it, GW games are not scale based, more just for tabletop.

    Re: Gamesday Forgeworld Seminar

The size of the Primarchs models will probably lead to the most posts on the entire HH universe, be it rules, kits, BL novels, or the FFG boardgame. We can agree that the size of the SMs has varied somewhat in the fiction, but for the glimpses of the Primarchs, that experience is somewhat more varied. From the size of a normal Marine to the size of an immense Greater Daemon, it has varied to meet the needs of the writer. A model can't vary, though. So I expect 1,000,000,000,000 arguments about it as the models get previewed and finally released.

Since the characters are properly humanoid with distinct human features, having them be 12-16 feet tall may look more out of scale than it does imposing. You could probably address that with sculpting details, but it may not work.

So I imagine the models will be sculpted heroically, around head and shoulders taller than a normal Marine. They need to stand out, but not overwhelm, their Marines on the tabletop. I'm sure the sizes will vary, esp. if we get some loyal and turned versions (which would make sense...don't we want to see both versions of Angron?) for a few of them. You can always pimp the base a bit to add height.

Still, very eager for the models, with special interest in Sanguinius. I play Wolves, but he is the most visually stunning P.

If I were a talented professional painter who makes money selling figures, this news would be like Christmas in July.

I'm hoping for some other releases outside of Power Armor. But the rubber meets the road with the big guys, for this whole release. I'm sure they both know and are counting on that.

Primarchs should mostly be about a head taller than a Terminator, with a few exceptions (Mortarion & Magnus, maybe Vulkan). Keeps them nicely in line, makes them a bit bigger to show just how awe inspiring they are, but keeps it in the realm of "plausibility".

Plausibility? erm... No. This is 40k, Plausibility died before the first paragraph of Rogue Trader was finished.

I personally don't want realistic. give me OTT super death beasts! These are the heroes of legend and their appearance should reflect that to inspire the players to act out the most iconic battles in 40k history. No one wants to play a game where the Primarchs stay in the command bunker (which is realistically where they would stay to prosecute a planet wide war), they want them on the front lines ripping a Greater Daemon's head off while bludgeoning an Imperial Army platoon to death with the wet end!

The more fantastic the scene, the more fun can be had by us, the players.

If we look to the other manufactures renditions, the Sanguinius model by scibor is HUGE and too chunky for the Blood Angels Primarch. Doesn't help that he comes with a big base too...

I have previously said there are 3 books planned.
    The first IS Istavaan III.
There are three Primarchs in the first book.
Your names are good ... but theres are better.
The names are something like 'The Betrayal' and 'Retribution'.

    3 primarchs ? ( not doubting you Harry )
That makes no sense , but hey I only guess and dream.

I would like to call it that 2 of the primarchs will be Vulkan and ferrus.
