Okay, okay, calm down you WoC players. I mean no offense. But I was hoping you could correct my perceptions
I look at WoC, and can't help but get the impression that their playstyle would be somewhat... straightforward.
They've got great elite infantry and decent heavy cav (expensive, but it does look like it will hit fairly hard), and cheap lighter infantry.
But how do games with them tend to unfold? I'm probably more interested in a Khorne or Nurgle-based force for fluff reasons, so perhaps if responses gave them a bit more consideration that would be good.
I look at them and think "Surely with infantry as good as Chaos Warriors, you'd be able to march them forward and wipe out whatever they fight as long as you keep their flanks clear". Especially if you took something like Khorne-marked warriors with halberds. They don't panic easily either, and have pretty solid armour to protect them from at least some shooting on the way in. It seems a little... unsubtle.
(I should point out the opponents I play don't run massive deathstar or other netlists. We tend to run balanced armies that look like they belong on the table)
So what subtleties are there to playing WoC? I assume there'd be a bit of nouse required to not get shot/magiced to pieces on the way in, given how expensive Warriors are. Are there other subtleties to playing them that I'm not aware of? Or is it that they really are fairly straightforward to play?
