help me descide pls

Hello everybody, i am Gilles, a new player in the world of warhammer 40k
several days i have been struggeling between the battleforce sets of Eldar, Dark eldar, Tyranids, Imperial guard or necrons
I almost have made a descision, necrons, but im still not sure
please give your opinion on this races and so you can help me descide witch battleforce i should buy to start my new army

Probably your best bet would be to post in the 40K general forum, you'd get a lot more views and responses there mate.

dark eldar is a really nice battle force set and the army were quasi totally rerealise

Go for whichever you like best. If you have already thought about Necrons, the cool thing is they got an almost complete re-release not too long ago with tons of cool new models and a new army book, so they should be somewhat competetive as well. Plus, not unimportant, they aren't too difficult to paint up to a nice enough standard.

Also, I am no authority on 40K (don't really play it anymore), but if I am not mistaken, Necrons aren't the most widespread of armies, so most of your new opponents will find your army to be a breath of fresh air... Which is a nice bonus.

Exactly, if you like the look, tone, feel and backround of an army, then thats the one for you.

Dont try and take an army because you think its hard, or competative, as what works for one person could be very boring or not work for another.

Which Army do you like the look of most, and want to paint and create?

Many years ago when I first walked into GW I looked for the models I like best when I was first deciding. I was a model painter at heart and not a gamer.

I liked large mecha robot things and being a bit of a history buff found myself being drawn to Chaos Space Marines with the Defiler and the Thousand Sons.

What really worked for me however was sitting down and reading the fluff and rules in the store copy of the Chaos Space Marine codex. That was what won me over to the dark side of CSM.

If I was to start again tomorrow, I would be completely torn, there is a new CSM codex about to arrive and I like the current range and expect it to become even better, however the new Necron stuff has a large walker thing (Tomb Stalker?), the HQs have different characteristics (Dynasties?) and the fluff has been expanded to give them more background.

Go with what grabs your attention, you'll enjoy your games more.

New allies rules allow for interesting combos of armies as well, could be worth checking into if you are torn between two armies, maybe you can take both!
