This plog is also great, I love your orcs and goblins they're ace , I especially like the rangers (have some myself) and the thunderers, they are so much more characterful than the newer models. Keep up the good work.

@ Spjuth. Thanks mate. Got an update on those guys as well

@ Tonny. Thanks! As you see I've tried out a few different color schemes for my Dwarfs

    @ Snikch. Thanks a lot

    _

A lot of interesting things going on the board today , I figured I'd join in with a little update..

I was a bit reluctant making this update since I have no good camera atm (my brother has a good one which I use when he comes by - the same cam I took the first of the pics with) and so the pics prolly wont give the progress much credit. I would like though to make more frequent updates with some WIP, so here goes:

The Throne of power is nearly done - apart from the base I'm still trying to come up with an idea for it.

The Slayer to the left is done (again, apart from the base) though he doesn't look like much on that picture.

Rune Smith. A character I rly like! He still needs a few detail obv. but I'm pretty pleased with his cloak, so I figured I'd share him as well.

When I get a chance to take some better pics I will. They will hopefully all be done by then.. Enjoy

Loving the Throne, can't wait to see it on a base. Also thats a great orange beard on the second slayer and red cloak on the runesmith. Keep up the work.

Also I have that very same dwarf runelord (though he's not done) it's a great mini.

Nice King on his throne, excellent work! As for the bases, have you considered ordering some online from your friendly base supplier from Stirland

On a completely unrelated note... Like the beards, gives me something to hang on to! Whoof!
Check out my Mordheim scenery! NOW! I mean... Please... Only if you want to of course...
Get your ale while it's still hot! And discover why Stirland should rule The Empire...

Amazing work as always Loca, I really love what you've done with the high king. As you say, the old metal models are not greatly detailed, yet you've manage to make them feel like they are. Terrific job!

@ Dazza. Thanks! As for the base I looked to your Throne of Power for inspiration, as you can probably see :P

@ Snikch. Thanks mate :-) Ye he is rly great – and hes done now, wee.

    @ Boreas.

    BADAM - CHI !
I'm rly glad you like him :-)

@ Toshiro. Thank you very much mate!

    ___

    Time for an update.
I've finished both Rune Smith, Slayer and the Throne of power.
The quality of the pictures (said it before, will say it again) is not great – I hope I will have a chance to borrow my bros cam some time in the future and take some new pics.
But for now, here they are:

    __

Just a quick shot of the slayer - a bit better picture , plus he is based on this one.

The Rune Smith. I was in doubt whether to paint the shafts of his staff and mace just plain black, or do something else - What are your thoughts?
(I see now theres a bit a dead grass on his cloak. woops)

The Throne of Power. I'm not all too pleased with the base. I tried making some kind of tiled floor, inspired by Dazza's base for his Throne. Though this one just seems like one big, grey mass
    I'll need to practice.

And finally this guy! I'm so exited about this model. Always desired him! I'm very pleased with the result as well.

That's it for now. Hope you enjoy!

    Have a wonderful day!

Nice update. Great models and painting. I like the way you paint faces, very well done and characterful. The beards are great too. Keep it up !

These are some great looking dwarfs here!

a.) The banner for your miners is hilarious.

b.) Those gems are a good touch, what are they made of? Sliced up spare plastic?

c.) I like that you snuck a black orc bit in for your hero's big ol' clubber. Ironically, it makes for a fitting dwarf weapon afterall.

Have to ask do you post over on BUGMANS BREWERY ? if not i think you really should, i know all those dwarf lovers will love seeing your stuff.

Love your dwarves, the faces (and beards of course, can't forget the beards!) look fantastic, you've really brought out the character of the models. You've even given some of them expressions with the way you've painted the eyes. Lovely to look at such beautifully painted dwarves, especially the older models. I always imaine their bulbous noses being really fun to paint. And I like the gold icon on the ranger's shield, I think it would look good on the rest of the unit.

    Re: Localicious Dwarf Mostly oop

Your latest additions are jaw-droppingly awesome! Very crisp and detailed painting and beautiful models to boot! I just love the King on his Throne and his BSB... The BSB is one of the best Dwarf models of the previous range. I have two, one as BSB and a converted one, acting as Thane or Lord...

Edit: you make me want to paint Dwarfs again... Hmmmm, maybe some rebasing and a fresh lick of paint (walks away, mumbling to himself)...

    Hi!

I think your throne of power looks wonderfull, I do prefer this model to the newer one. I really like the blue and white colours. If I had a dwarf army again I would use that colour scheme!
Also, I think the base is very nice. If you wanted to you could make the cobbles different sizes to make it more intresting, not that its not intresting by any means!

I always liked the old dwarf Iron breakers - got any of those on the way? Think with your painting style they would look really very nice.

    Re: Localicious Dwarf Mostly oop

Wauw! I'm rly happy you guys like my latest stuff. It definitely adds an extra dimension of motivation to this hobby of collecting Oop Dwarfs.
I'm messing about with some other non Dwarf stuff atm , so it might be some time before the next update.
But for now I just want to thank you all for the great compliments and critiques! I appreciate it

@ Azhagmorglum. Thank you! I think the faces and eyes are a great place to invest time. A great result here can rly up the entire model imo.

@HiDeke. Thanks mate! b. Yes, I just chop off a bit of plastic from an empty sprue and cut it. I make sure to have some sharp edges on them, so the drybrushing later will be efficient.
    c. Great observation It was a bit of a test tbh, but I ended up including him in the regiment

@ Roostmanuva. Thank you very much.

@ Dazza36. Well for the larger bases I use ZITERDES SnowPaste , let it dry, and then I add GW's snow flock on top of that. On the other bases I use snow flock alone.
No I don't post there actually. Wasn't aware of the site. I shall check it out!

@ Elfboy. Ty very much for the kinds word :-) I do enjoy putting some extra efford into the faces and eyes. And ty for feedback on the Ranger shields. I shall consider adding the gold icon to the rest of the,

    @ Toshiro. Thanks mate :-)

@ Kublai. Thank you very much :-)

@ Purplebeard. Thanks! I do think that the blue/white color scheme worked out alright. Glad you like it

@ Boreas. Thanks a lot I agree on the BSB , I rly love that model!
Sry for stirring up the Dwarf within you – you seem to have plenty of projects to spend your time on as it is

@ Mr Scratch & Sniff. Thank you I do feel happy about the way the blue/white color scheme turned out. Glad you like it.
I think you are very right about making them different sizes – it does seem a but too simple indeed.
Ye the Iron breakers are nice as well. I actually don't own a single one I've been a bit reluctant in getting them since I felt I needed to be able to do a little magic with both metal and beards in order for them to turn out right ... I might be getting there slowly , so I might just go and get some one day.
I could go with the Blue/white for the shields, and have the runes “glow” , kinda like I did on the runes on the BSB ... hmm
Don't be surprised if I toss a few pics of Iron Breakers up on the board in the future

Simply beautiful stuff. It's logs like these that make me want to play Dwarfs, but then I remember that the current model range just doesn't really do it for me.
