Pre-heresy World Eaters and other Projects by Brother H

Hey all I've had this thread going on a few other forums but I figured I'd start it here as well to see what all of you thought.


3rd Assault Company, XII Legion Astartes


This project concerns, as the banner says, the 3rd Assault Company of the XII Legion Astartes, the World Eaters, lead by Captain Crixus Urteil nicknamed, "The Headsman." I'm using the Blood Angels codex ruleset as I feel it best represents the Heresy Era World Eaters and their steadily eroding self control under Angron's leadership. The Timeframe I'm aiming for with the army is post-Istvaan V when they have been sent alongside the Word Bearers to rampage through the Ultima sector.


Some background fluff on the Company:


Captain Crixus was unique in that he not only made extensive use of Destroyer squads in his company, but also maintained a personal cadre composed of Veteran Destroyers who accompanied him in battle. Though the use of such units was often spurned by many of his peers in other Legions as well as his own, it was Captain Crixus' belief that only by destroying not only the enemy, but his family, his home, and the very earth he walked upon would you ensure complete and total victory from which a foe would never arise again.

Given the presence of MKVII armour and the Aquila, I assume this is a test mini? Test passed!

Wow subscribed. I was thinking of making Pre heresy world eaters about this manner. But time is a virtue so I will have to enoy yours

Indeed. Also, how the blood sprays on the miniatures all make sense regarding their location relative to the weapons; you can just imagine the spinning chainblades mincing some poor bugger's face and it resulting in just such gore spatter, heh.

Nice Assoult Marines, and very cool Contemptor. But ... Inquisitor Engel is right ... the aquila doesn't work with the pre heresy theme but i think it's too late to cut it off ?

Wow, very nice! Love the worn look and the bloodied armour. Are you planning on adding some grass or something to the bases? They seem rather plain at the moment... Anyways, great job so far!

The aquila was used pre-heresy.

Only by Emperor's Children and Primarchs But those World Eaters look great even with the Aquilas Great work

Thanks for the compliments everyone, as far as my logic goes on the Aquila on Brutus, I was thinking along the lines of Nathaniel Garro from Flight of the Eisenstein and how he earned the Aquila on his Breastplate. I figured that the Contemptors were members from the earliest days of the Legion, back when they were the War Hounds, and that their heroism and personal sacrifice were enough to earn the honor of carrying the Imperial Aquila as well as the right to pilot a dreadnought chassis.

Yea, the Aquilla appears to have been used as an individual honour and decoration.. its just the the super special Emperors Children were super special enough to be granted that honour wholesale as a Legion.
