Thread: Armybuilder

    Armybuilder

Any news on if Armybuilder will still be supporting 40K? Last I heard they had to take the rules down.

On a side note, anyone know how to determine what version of the 40K ruleset I am running? Anyone know if the latest update is hosted somewhere I could pull it down?

Where do I find the Army Builder 6th ed files?

They have been release but for some stupid reason it seems to be a secret where they can be found.

They have a datafile for 6th edition up, but it is very early stage and missing a lot of the updated information.

I thought they were going to stop supporting 40k as GW was planning on coming out with their own? Last rumors I heard was that GW was forcing them to stop.

www.ab40k.org , in the downloads section. There is also a link on the site on how to add ab40k.org as an update source in AB here.

    Re: Armybuilder

All that GW did was sent a C&D request to the host of the files. There was no follow up as far as I know.
I am actually a little surprised that the 6th ed files are out already. I was expecting files later this month. I consider the current file set as an open beta more then a useable system. The army files are still quite buggy.

Looks like the site hasn't been updated since before July: AB40K

This is why you don't buy unauthorized software. Especially when it relates to GW who pounce all over these sort of things.

They have hardly pounced when ArmyBuilder has been around since the late 90s.

The datafiel is not that hard to find really. Once you have one version Army Builder has thing that takes you to the data file author's website. Its been ab40k.org for a good long time. Its been there for at last the entire duration of 5th edition and at least some of 4th.

Funny though, it's listed as 5th edition, but the file name is ab40k6v1_00 for 6th edition. I loaded it and it works just fine. Love AB, I can't stand to do without it after all these years.

    It would be tragic.
