    StarWars Imperial Guard 2000-Point Army

Well, I finally got around to laying out my StarWars IG army and taking some pictures of it. Fortunately, by the time I managed it, I had some themed terrain, too, so the pictures include my Endor shield bunker and my shield generator; shuttle landing pad is forthcoming. I hope to have an entire table's worth of StarWars-themed terrain someday.

Anyway, here's the army, in all its glory (cue "Imperial March"):

    The whole army:

    Army List (2000 Points):
    HQ:
    Lord Commissar, Power Fist
    Primaris Psyker

    Elites:
    Guardsman Marbo
    5 Storm Troopers, 2 Meltas
5 Storm Troopers, 2 Meltas, Plasma Pistol

    Troops:
Veteran Squad, Grenadiers, 3 Plasma Guns, Plasma Pistol
    -Chimera, Multilaser, Heavy Bolter
Veteran Squad, Grenadiers, 3 Plasma Guns, Plasma Pistol
    -Chimera, Multilaser, Heavy Bolter
    Veteran Squad, Grenadiers, 3 Flamers
    -Chimera, Multilaser, Heavy Flamer
Veteran Squad, Grenadiers, 2 Grenade Launchers, 1 Flamer
    -Chimera, Multilaser, Heavy Flamer
Veteran Squad, Grenadiers, 3 Grenade Launchers
Veteran Squad, Grenadiers, 3 Plasma Guns, Plasma Pistol

    Fast Attack:
3 Armored Sentinels, Lascannons, 2 HK Missiles
    3 Armored Sentinels, Plasma Cannons
    7 Rough Riders

    Heavy Support:
    None

HQ and Elites: Left to right we have Lord Commissar Vader, Primaris Psyker Palpatine, and Boba Fett (Marbo):

Elites and Troops: Storm Troopers and Carapace Veterans:

"An entire legion of my finest troops!"

Dedicated Transports: AT-AT Walkers (Chimeras, and yes, they're WYSIWYG Chimera kits):

Fast Attack: AT-ST Walkers (Armored Sentinels):

    Speeder Bikes (Rough Riders):

    Objective Marker: Han Solo

Fantastic force you have there. Did you attend throne of skulls this year? I heard of a star wars themed army attending that and wondered if this was it?

Nope. I live in the USA and have never been to Throne of Skulls. I hope that other one wasn't prettier than mine...

I actually put a step-by-step thread up a loooong time ago (see below):

Mixing franchises is something I generally don't like. That aside you did an excellent job converting this army to starwars, the units look good, especially the bikes. And the characters are recognisable. While these AT-AT's aren't the best I've ever seen, playing them as chimera's and actually making them from chimera's deserves some extra credit.

Any WIP shots of the AT-AT?

    That looks fantastic Coleshaw.
I love the AT-AT Chimeras in particular - does anyone give you grief over line of sight, or are do they fulful the 'Rule of Cool' so well that all else is irrelevant?
The Speeder rough riders are another stand out conversion, brilliant work.

Now, how do I convince you to play a game against my army? I know, I could post some pictures!

Okay, yeah, that would be awesome. Very fine work. I especially like the orinary infantrymen; excellent!

I don't get any grief over the AT-ATs. If there's any question, at the beginning of the game I just ask my opponent if they'd prefer to treat the AT-ATs as modeled, or as if they were ordinary Chimeras. By giving the opponent the choice, I remove any chance of being accused of modeling for advantage. And yes, "rule of cool" covereth a multitude of sins.

I can't get the credit for all the infantry, I've expanded it but the majority of the standard snow troopers were by a starwars/40K fanatic called CJ, using simple Cadian infantry, Commlink backpacks and Fantasy Empire Trooper heads.

After seeing how you did those ATATs with plasticard I am even more impressed, that's fantastic work!

BTW Have you tried your Rough Rider speeders with the new improved Mogul Kamir rage rules? It's a game changer.

Thanks! I made a mockup out of cardboard ahead of time to make sure the measurements were right. Those angles are tricksy! Still needed some greenstuff for a few gaps, and it didn't come out totally perfect, but I was happy with it; especially since (if you believe me) that's the first plasticard conversion work I've ever done. No joke.

I haven't tried Kamir yet; nothing StarWars-y seems quite appropriate for him. Unless maybe I model an Ewok hijacking a Speeder... I suppose that might explain making all the other Speeder-Bikers angry enough to have Rage...

I love these AtAts. Really love them, and they fit the concept of armored troop transports (I am guessing maybe having them as Land Raiders on a space marine force would fit them better, but since that's an IG list, that's not a possibility). Watching so much effort put into an army warms my heart.

Only objection I have is Vader's lightsaber. Going this far, and then giving him a green saber is a disservice to your own, amazing effort.

True, true. I just had the Necron power rod lying around. If I ever round up a red rod instead, I can replace it pretty easily; 10-second snap-and-reglue job.

The Internet is your friend and blue rods for the Rebel up there also

I would pay literally pennies to see both that Empire and Rebel army on the field. It would be fantastic.
