    Re: Shooty Green Tide, 2000pts

    Needs more Boyz.

On a more serious note I think you should combine the lootas into two mobs of ten, and then I'd add more until your Aegis lines are filled, but that's me because I love lootas.

With that many boyz around, I think the returns on a KFF are too high to not take a pair, if not more.

The kopters are an easy FB point as they are, I'd at least combine the squad, if not get rid of them completely.

DAKKAJETS!!! Sorry, had to get that out of my system. I think flyers can be a great answer to some of our problems with armor hordes. 9 shots on rear armor with S6? Yes please.

In conclusion, looks solid, but I'd give those boys a cover save, drop the kopters in favor of Dakkajets or Bombers, and maybe beef up the lootas a bit.

Waow, thanks, thats really something I should try!
Dropping an Aegis and the kopters could give me a Dakka jet with ace and additional gun, a KFF mekk and another big choppa nob.
And I would still have 5pts left.
Sounds like a good deal for me!

So, I drop the kopters for a Dakkajet, no problem here, seems like an excellent idea.
But I also drop an Aegis (+quad autoc) and 20 boyz for 2 KFF Mekk and 3 big choppa nobz. Does it seem ok for you guyz? Is it an improvement?
    Thank you for your time!

I don't know how you'll get 4 hq's in that list. Might want to look at that.

If you have nobs in with your shootas, you should put power klaws on them. Cause lets face it, we can't rely on ork shooting to take down everything. So if the nobs get close enough they can do some damage.

I also noticed that you don't have big shootas or other 'eavy weapons. Take a few of those to help soften up the enemy before you get into close combat.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi,
    Thanks for your advice!
Yes, I have 4 HQs, 4 ELITEs and 10 TROOPS.... that's because you can have 2 FOCs at 2000pts!
I always took clawed nobz but they can be quite expensive on 8 squads, and I fear some bad duels.
As I said in my first post, I'm still trying to figure out if I have to put a nob in every mob and if the big choppa is the new way to go....
Maybe I should take Big Shootas in every squads instead of my nobz?
    What do you think?

So far you have only 2 weapons(SAG) that will put a wound on a marine that he won't get a save from. I guess it would depend on what armies you usually go against for taking nobs. And don't forget that you can use "look out sir" for you nob in a duel.

Shootas only being 24" range will mean if you're close enough to use them, you might be close enough to get charged next turn. A little longer range could help.

What do you think about taking a looted vehicle with a boomgun? Orks do well with weapons they don't have to roll their bs for.

Some burna squads have been popular now too. They get charged and you'll get to do 3 auto hits each and then use the burnas for power weapons in hand to hand.

    Re: Shooty Green Tide, 2000pts

Burnas do best in a Battlewagon, which in turn works best with other battlewagons. Footslogging burnas will just get shot before they can accomplish anything, so they're usually left out of a green tide list.

I also wouldn't go with PKs on the Nobs, as they have a decent chance of being picked off for such an expensive model. I think BC/BP is going to be the new PK/BP.

I don't know why I didn't think of this the first time, but Ghaz might be a good addition in place of a SAG Mek if you want to run your boys turn 2.

Just for kicks I made up a list.

    2000 Shooty Tide

    3x KFF Mek w/ Burna, Boss Pole - 330 (110)

Warboss w/ Bike, PK, BP, Attack Squig - 145

    2x 15 Lootas - 450 (225)

    2x Aegis line w/ quad gun - 200 (100)

Dakkajet w/ Ace and Extra Shoota - 130

    3x 20 Shoota Boyz (Meks go with these) - 360 (120)

20 Shoota Boyz w/ Nob, Big Choppa, BP (Warboss with these) - 140

20 Shoota Boyz w/ Nob, PK, BP, 'Eavy Armor (This is an experiment) - 160

    2x 10 grots w/ Herder - 80 (40)

    Total: 2000

"And so fell Lord Perth, and the countryside did shake with that thunder"...

    Sorry I couldn't resist!

    Thanks for your list!
It makes me think about giving burnas to my Mekk... (Oups, in fact nope, just checked the dex and burnas are waaaaay too expensive for them IMHO)

I am pretty happy with the second list I posted, I could spend my 10 last pts on two big shootas for my boyz.
The only thing I am now hesitating with, would be dropping the BC nob for a lot of big shootas (12 more, so 14 total.).
What do you think my Lord?

    First post edited in consequence!

I believe that has been the first time the name has been recognized, my hat is off to you sir.

And doh, I forgot about the big shootas. I'd say they're worth the 5 points, if you drop a SAG (you seem to like them though, rule of cool > everything else) you could give all of your mobs big shootas and still have some points left over for another nob.

    Re: Shooty Green Tide, 2000pts

    Hmm,
I could trade a squad of grots for 8 Big shootas as I only need one squad of grots to use the quad gun.
8 shootas will boost my squads firepower.

I will try to drop the quad gun for an Icarus lascanon time to time as I already have plenty S7 shots but no S9 (unless my SAGs give me something cool), I am already laughing thinking about my grots "firing the laseeeeeer!!"
I hope it won't be wasted with their BS3 and it will give me 15 pts for said, a nob with big choppa!

The dakkajet is really an excellent idea which has been growing on me the last days, I ordered one and am waiting!
Thank you very much for all the advices!

    Re: Shooty Green Tide, 2000pts

    Hi!
I am not sure if you are kidding or not, but (in doubt ), I don't think stompas would be allowed out of apocalypse.
Even if it was, it would attract every single heavy weapon on its face as all my army is infantry.

I edited the first post with 8 more shootas, dropping 10 grots.
