Hi,40K Army: Eldar
After a long absence -most of 5th Edition, I have been drawn back to 40K and the endangered Space Elves. I always tend to build my armies round a lot of background and fluff and this one is no exception. It is a 1999 point Harlequin themed force from the Black Library and so far I am very happy with my model choice and army organisation, but I am struggling to find a rule fit with my Great Harlequin HQ.
The army is anchored on three units of pathfinders (Mimes) with heavy support from a wraithlord (Spiritwalker) and a unit of dark reapers (Death Jesters). These are supported by two, more mobile units; shadow spectres (Mockingbirds) and two war walkers (Marionettes). Behind the line run two squads of Harlequins ready to leap on any assault troops that survive to threaten my anchor. One HQ is the High Shadowseer represented by the rules for Eldrad (modified wardancer). The leader of an army from the Black Library is going to be psychically strong with strange, powerful artifacts and her 4++ save could equally be due to her super holo field or extra dodginess, as opposed to rune armour. Hopefully this brief description will give you the general idea of what I am trying to do with this army.
Now we come to the part where I need your help. My second HQ is the Great Harlequin and I'm pleased with my conversion of the C'tan deceiver, but which rules to use? Initially I was going to go with the Avatar; the inspiring, the fearless, the daemonic super save are all good, but on further thought I am a bit uncomfortable with the monstrous creature, molten body and lack of fleet. Are there any ideas out there as to what I could use? I have considered Yriel, Jain Zar and Karandras, but can't come to a firm decision, I need help, someone to bounce ideas off. Is there a suitable Autarch build that I have overlooked? It has just occurred to me that there might be a Dark Eldar HQ that fits the bill? Dark Eldar are a forbidden pleasure, but with the new allies rule.....? (n.b. '50 Shade of Grey'- the start of Lilith's career in the dark city).
Let me know what you think,
Archangel
