Painting Cadian 122nd Battle for Vogen

    Hi all,

I've been looking at Imperial Guard colour schemes lately, and quite like the look of the Cadian 122nd Battle for Vogen one, but I'm not sure which paints I would need to get the desired effect? I've been through a lot of the online logs where people have painted them, but I can't figure the scheme out. Any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks

    NovaScotius

Do you mean the one from the old WD and Cityfight?

the scheme translated to new models would be shadow grey cloth with white (i'd use ulthuan grey personally) and chaos black camo. the carapace armor would be black, edge highlighted with a 50/50 mix of shadow and black.

If your struggling with the pattern, try to do it on a piece of paper a few times till you have the hang of it. It really is just black and white lines that sometimes, but not always touch. To paint it i'd ignore the black and white till later and just get the shadow grey under colour right first, then paint the black and white over the top. If you do use Ulthuan grey first, it gives you the option of painting the highest point of any fold white to add extra clothing depth, but if your planning on hundreds of these, i wouldn't bother.

    Hope this helps?

    NovaScotius,

OK, I see that Elfaen has attempted to use the current paint colours (and I cannot help there).

I used a primer coat of black, painted the fatigues with Space Wolf Grey and Black followed by a highlight of the Space Wolf Grey. Black and White stripes were added over that. Flak jackets and other armour was Chaos Black followed by a highlight of Chaos Black and Codex Grey. Webbing was Snakebite Leather with a highlight of Bubonic Brown.

    Hope that helps,

    CB

PS: If you want an army of them just follow the link in my sig to the Trading Forum as I don't field them any longer.
