Pre-Heresy Iron Warriors Shoulder Pads?

SOOOO I am thinking about getting some allies for my guard and making the whole army "Pre-Heresy" themed and I was thinking about using Iron Warriors since I am already making a 40k period army. However my Green Stuff skills are limited and rather than sculp the IW pre-heresy Legion badge on their shoulder plates I would rather modify existing pads. So I was wondering what the general consensus is as far as existing shoulder pads that are easiest to convert. The Chaos IW Pads would do with a bit of clipping and filing to get rid of the Chaos star, but the Silver Skulls pads could probably work with a bit of green stuff. Thoughts? Or should I wait till the Forge World Horus Heresy release and pray that Power Armour pads for all the legions are released soon?

I would recommend the silver skulls shoulder pads; they are closest to the iron warriors legion ore heresy ( too close if you ask me ) and itd save they filing and what not on the chaos ones

Thanks that's what I was thinking. Was pretty much hoping someone had done something similar and maybe had some advice but in lieu of that I think I will go silver skulls!

If you're set on using moulded pads then Silver Skulls is the one, but as an Iron Warriors player myself, the icon isn't that hard to paint freehand, one of the simplest things to attempt really...
In fact, looking at your existing plog I would say save your money and freehand it! Your choice at the end of the day.

Sigh I think you may be right about the freehand... Good thing I only plan on doing a small contingent!
