Thread: Harlequin Titan

    Harlequin Titan

Here's a titan that I did just a little while ago. I was rather fond of the results.

For credit- my client created the base (all I added was some gravel). It was also his idea to do up this titan as a harlequin. The color scheme matches his harlies, who are each black and white plus one of the bright colors featured on this mini.

I've posted him up on Cool Mini for anyone who cares to vote.

    Well, here are the pictures:

That titan is amazing. The only bit of constructive feedback I can think of is I feel the face is a bit too... brutal for an eldar titan. I would have tried to go for a more "elegant grin" in a prettier space elf face. But the whole scene is breathtaking nonetheless.

I've gotten some pretty contradictory feedback on the face. Some people think it is perfect, others think it is too big and smiley, and others actually think it isn't big and smiley enough.

I'm not totally sure what to make of all of that. But my client love it, and that's the most important thing.

While the use of colour is a bit too much for me (and I have a Harlequin army!) I can't help but applaud the courage of painting a titan this way. I know what a pain it is to paint a titan, I can't imagine what it takes to paint like a Harlequin though. Your client should be happy with this though, the painting is great!

Wow! That's unique and very awesome. I think the face is fine. It fits the harlequin theme very well

    Re: Harlequin Titan

All that really matters is that the person paying for it is happy.

That said, I'll come down on the side of thinking a thinner face would have been 'better' (more suited to the model).

Although, in my perfect world, it would have 'hands' and holding the arm weapons...but that's a fundamental thing with the model for me.

All in all, a great job.

Fantastic model, it's not everyday you see a harlequin titan. The painting is great, on the face, I think it does the job. I personally don't like it but thats because it makes the titan look too much like an upscaled person(eldar) than a massive war machine, but thats my opinion on faces in general. The actual face is modeled\painted very well and if you and the client are happy then thats all that matters.

    This is truly gorgeous!

I agree with some of the comments about the faces. I feel like it's more DE than normal Eldar. But then I also agree that they shouldn't have faces at all.

I hope your client likes it, because I certainly do and can't see anyone not!

Well, this was painted to play with my client's Dark Eldar force (as were his Harlequins). So I think that worked out quite well.

    Re: Harlequin Titan

That was my point about making the client happy. That's really all that matters and it's amazingly good, regardless of my personal opinion.

Now if I get you to paint 'my' Harlequin Titan, I'll go for a thinner, likely blank/iridescent, face with something that fits 'my' Harlequin (DEWC) army.
