    Modeling Magic Items

I realise most magic items don't have to be modeled at all because they can be many things, however what about Fencer's Blades dose the model I give this need to have 2 hand weapons? the paired weapon thing seems to imply that the character has 2 weapons. This is the only thing from holding me back from taking this item as I don't have a suitable model with 2 weapons to use for my particular charater I wish to build yet.

Shouldn't be too hard to fit a sheated sword (or whatever handweapon fits with the army or the style you are going for). Would say all armies comes with them on the sprue, and chances are your model already have on at that. So one of the paired weapons happens to not be drawn yet...

What you want to avoid is having that obvious "Great weapon" or so on the model.

Thanks, was for a metal model but I am sure I can find a spare plastic weapon ect to place on the model incase questioned, I didn't think of the "it happens to not be drawn yet..." line.

Out of curiosity, what model is it you are wanting to give the paired blades to?

Have the same "problem" with the finecast Doombull with his towering Great weapon. It's hard to "make believe" that it's a shield and Swiftslayer sword.

Notice that, unless stated otherwise, all magic weapons are considered hand weapons.

So, even if a magic weapon has the paired weapons rule, or requires two hands, it is considered a hand weapon for the purposes of WYSIWYG.

Some other weapons, as some bretonnian lances, are specified as a special weapon and should be modeled that way.

    Re: Modeling Magic Items

That is not what the "being handweapons unless otherwise noted" means...

It is just for that it has no special rules (like a single hand weapon), and for the purposes of stuff being named "Sword of whatever" still being represented on a model with another hand weapon like an axe or a mace.

Paired weapon is not two or "one" hand weapons, it is a rule for magic weapons that tells you they are a pair, gives +1 attack and takes two hands to use.

Savage Orc Shaman 1? The Wand in the left hand is clearly a weapon, the skull in its right hand can be used as one for by a Savage Orc surely (either as it is or with magic). But doesn't the model have a small flint knife somewhere on it?
