TBH I think 1 Phoenix would be better than 2 Chimera.
With the spare points you could get an Arcanist and a Soulless Escort.

    Just imo.
Lion: Hey Russ, you'll never guess what!
Russ: Yeah, I know! Magnus is a traitor! To think that he could accuse our beloved brother Horus of turning against us. Impossible! But don't worry. I have taken care of it, Horus asked me to destroyed Prospero and I have. Magnus shouldn't be bothering us again.
Lion: ... actually, I was going to say that Magnus was right. Horus has turned to Chaos, 7 other Legions have joined him and he has destroyed 3 Loyal Legions already!

I played Rahn with 2 phoenix and an Arcanist.

Imho is the best list you can get at 15 pts.

Go with a Theme list and you can run two Phoenixes & two Arcanists.

I second a phoenix being better than two chimera's. Retribution as a whole doesn't really use its lights. Not that they are bad, they just don't do what we want and the phoenix is disgustingly good for our faction. Also, at 15 points you can drop magisters.

The reason for that is simple, Mage Hunter Assassins. At 15 points they are disgusting and will be a staple in almost every list you run for every caster. It is just about the only thing we have that other factions are jealous of and Rahn is the best at opening the angles.

I second this. It can get pretty nasty, and in my opinion Rahn has a pretty nice theme list: who doesn't love free units?

As someone who was planning to start Scryah, went khador to add variety to the gaming group, i will share few infos.

    Light Jacks
    Chimera:An archnode enough said.
It is general agreement that a pheonix is better than 2 chimera. There are 2 reasons. 1 Pheonix is much more durable. 2. Pheonix has better offensive ability.

Gorgon: A jack with an interesting range weapon. Its has a nice cc ability and a pow 20 attack(combo strike). A fun combination is with Scyir due to a considerable offensive power.

Griffon: Perhaps my favorite light jack in Scyrah. Decent Pow (15 on charge) with shield and pathfinder. Both Dawnguard unit will get some use out of this light jack by marshalling it.

    Heavy Jacks
Pheonix-oh man, durable arch node with yup you guessed it FIRE POWAH. This guy love setting things on fire in both melee and range.

Hydra- Think of this guy as.... a big giant sniping robot. This guy's gun get +1 rng and +1 pow for each focus, you just have to hold on to the focus, AND his focus doesn't reset during maintenance phase.

Manticore- This guy has decent gun and good melee. But imo he should be used mainly as melee due to his force generator(+3 str for 1 focus) and Combo strike (double the str) which makes this guy amazing at ripping things apart at low cost.

I could share more of my limited knowledge but I don't want to put up bunch of stuff that might not be so true, since I have never played them on the field.

As for the list i would recommend the following

    Rahn
    Pheonix
    battle mages
    magister
    artificer
    arcanist

If you are planning to stick with rahn for awhile, he is FUN caster, i say try out theme list and get a second unit of battle mages.

Just thought I'd clarify some things:

Its' combo strike is pow 16, not 20. You double the pow of the attack, not the str. So he gets str 8 + pow 4 + pow 4 = 16.

He's still pow 13 on the charge, he gets +2 to charge attack rolls, not damage rolls.

In general, Ret Light jacks just aren't that good compared to the option of having another heavy. Especially when we do not have more than 1-2 jacks in any given list because of our great infantry.

Totally agree. The only lights I would ever consider including are the Griffon and the Aspis, they are both very cheap and fill a role our heavies don't. If you want an arcnode you're pretty much always better off with a Phoenix over the Chimera, and the Gorgon is just terribad.

I have heard that a Gorgon with Garryth at small point levels (15 and maybe 25) can be rather powerful because the gorgon says "Deal with me now"
