What's Black Library's policy on reprinting out of print books and short stories?

Background books like Battle for Armageddon, 13th Black Crusade and Xenology are out of print and expensive to buy second hand. Is there any chance Black Library could reprint them? Or at least release them as ebooks?

Also, I was looking at this list of Warhammer 40k short stories and noticed that a couple of the stories printed in Inferno! haven't been reprinted elsewhere.

Like with the background books I was wondering what the chances of these short stories being re-released? Especially, the Altar of Cyrene which features the Blood Ravens, yet wasn't included in the Blood Ravens omnibus.

Guess is as good as mine, man. I'd like a lot of this older stuff to get reprinted too. It has a much different flavour to a lot of the current titles (like in the last 5-6 years). They *were* selling old Inferno issues at Black Library Live this year though. Who knows.

They seem to be reprinting some stuff as Print on Demand (eg. the Ian Watson Space Marine novel from before Black Library even existed), and making other stuff available as ebook.

Whether that's a policy and whether it will eventually apply to everything...? You'd have to ask BL themselves probably.

The books you mention are more likely to make it as Print on Demand books; the short stories are more likely to get by as eBooks (individually, unless the authors or the factions receive more stories). The more people contact BL to ask for these things, the higher a priority they'll tend to give them.

I think their current policy is that they are focusing on getting the current range all accounted for and available in e-book (so I would guess most novels from the past 10 years they will still have physical stock of) before they start focusing more on print on demand and more niche things like Inferno. There may be rights issues etc to clear up with older books (or they may have to get hold of a copy for themselves!) before they start doing it large scale.

The background books are another matter all together as they tend to fall outside BLs normal type of book publishing.
