2400pt Warriors, bit of advice needed...

Fantasy Army: WoC

So, I'm due to play a game with my new style WoC for the first time in 8th, and was looking for a little feedback on the list:

This leave me with 115 points (which will probably be spent on banners for the Warriors and Knights, and to meet min core I have to put one of at least 25 points on the Warriors).

Now, the most restricting thing about this army is that to inspire myself to paint the many, many, many models that I have, I intend to only game with figures that I have painted/ repainted...so what I have in the list is pretty much what I have, apart from more dogs, 3 more knights, a couple of Spawn and a Giant.

Other than that, I'm looking for suggestions on character builds, and changes I can make to a few units.

Firstly, what do you think the best combination of banners would be?

To spread things out, I can take 3x5 Knights, but I feel as units of 7 they have that little bit more survivability and hitting power. To compensate for having only a single unit of Warriors I could also pop all the Horsemen into one big unit, mark them Khorne and change them from fast cav to slightly better armoured glass hammers (and give them spears for +1S on the charge).

As a couple of general points- The BSB is on a boobwyrm (but on a standard cav base to represent the SoS) to give him a better movement, and to allow him to be where he needs to be at short notice (and because it is a fantastic model), and the Lord has an Ogre Blade to give me a few S6 attacks in the Warrior unit.

I'd throw the Charmed Shield on the wizard lord; because hey, why not? Sneak in that extra point of AS, especially since you plan on having him do some fighting.

I think I would give the Banner of Switfness to the warriors. I almost never take it, but it would help them keep up with your otherwise mv 6+ army. Blasted Standard is often a first reaction for the knights, but once your opponent figures out which unit has the banner, he'll just fire at the other unit. It might save your unit(s) from a single round of shooting. I personally would avoid it. And yes; I realize I didn't really give much concrete advice there.

I like the knights as-is. Having five of them will often leave you guessing whether or not you will win combat. Having seven will have you charging with confidence. I also like the two units of marauder horsemen. You're already playing Chaos, and you're already using knights; your army has a small enough number of units. Don't make it smaller.

I'd probably make the exalted a tzeentchy disc character, 1 for better survivability, 2 for flying, just to make him a bit more mobile (don't get me wrong, M10 is nothing to laugh at, but the ability to jump over units with the same movement is very good). Also, he can't have enchanted shield with talsiman of preservation since in the WoC book, enchanted shield is 15pts, not 5, but a charmed shield will do the job just as well.

Rather than investing in a banner for the warriors to fill core, I'd probably just add 2 more warriors for survivability.

I'd stick with 2X7 nights, since in 3X5, each indicidual unit isn't really providing that punch that cavalry need this edition, and oyu have to start dishing out points for marks and banners across 3 units.

As for the leftover points, I'd say add the banner or 2 extra warriors to the warrior unit, then probably bulk up the knights to 8 each or add a level 1 of fire (for fireball) and pass the dispel scroll to him.

Nope, if it's listed in that book, you have to use the points listed in that book. When all the books get re-done in 8th, they'll all be the same, but as it stands, you have to use the army book price.

For the standards, I was considering the Blasted Standard on the Knights to try and maximise the number of them I can get into combat, figuring that my opponent would try to whittle down one unit more anyway, and that a 50/50 chance of him blowing off some shots at the more protected unit rather than having a free pop at two units with lesser (but still 1+) protection. The banner of swiftness is a good idea, and I can just pop in a couple of extra dogs to bring me to the points.

At the moment, I don't have a disc character or any more warriors available. I doubt I'm going to get the opportunity to add to this number in the next couple of weeks, but you never know, so I'd rather work with what I have for the time being.

Good point on the shield, I'll just swap it out for a standard shield and pop the charmed one on the Lord.

I'm not 100% sure, but since dogs didn't count as a core slot back in 7th I'm pretty sure their points don't count towards our 25% points in core. Again I'm not positive but I'm pretty sure that's the case.

There's not enough killy stuff in this list, at least from a WoC perspective. Knights are scary but bounce off steadfast blocks of infantry. 1 WoC blockw ith shields a 5+ parry's is survivable, but not super killy, only S4 is ehh.
