+++ Lord, I have found your invisible planet. Thank the almighty god Emperor for guiding my sight. None of the scanners picked up the planet during the nearly seven month investigation. It was during my morning prayer to the emperor were I gaze up to take in all the greatness our god Emperor has bestowed on us. I have a small window in the Saint Eonnonar were I conduct my daily prayers. I saw the planet guided by the almighty emperor with my own eyes!

The situation is changing, our astropath mentions there are several anomalies in the warp heading for this system. We will soon have company of several unknowns, this disturbs me greatly as to how this location has been given away. Further investigation will be required.

I will keep reporting the evolving situation and further discoveries whenever possible.+++

+++ After investigating some strange magnetic disturbances we found a suitable landing site and commenced landing protocols.

The planet is dead and the surface shows no signs of life but the air is still barely breathable. The ruins are immense but are not of any origin I we know of, though the glyphs seem quite familiar and one of my scribes is making remarkably fast progress deciphering them. +++

+++I found out who our traitor was, none other than my apprentice Goliatis! After some [inquisitorial sanctioned] questioning I found out he was feeding the information to the Ordo Malleus, this shocks and angers me deeply. A video transmission of my interrogation and his execution is included within the message.

Albeit, we are to late. His message of this mission was leaked. My astropath told me a few days ago that certain unknown ships have reached the edge of this system. He has moved the Saint Eonnonar into a crater on one of this planets moons were it should be secure. We are on our own now.+++

+++Emperor protects! The skies turned all the colours of hell, massive amounts of ships are entering the atmosphere and unknown forces already there are firing at the ships and moving to intercept. We have left our landing site to investigate a ruin city were my scribe tells me more clues are to be found. As far as our readings show we have not been noticed yet, I will only be able to send transmissions on weekly basis at most to avoid unwanted attention.+++

    Point limit: 1000

    Table size: 4’X4’

    Terrain: Standard

Anomaly level: 0, scanners are picking up minor distortions but no in game effect.

Mission: Crusade (ignore the line breaker mission objective)

Deployment: both players roll a dice, the highest is the invader, the other is the interceptor.
The invader deploys first following the rules for deep strike. Each unit is considered to have deep strike for deployment only. Only models already having deep strike may be held in reserve and follow the reserve rules and can only choose tho enter the battle field by deepstrike. Models that arrive a turn later through a mishap do so and are the only exception. The invader cannot outflank with any of his units except for fliers.
After the Invader has deployed, the interceptor can choose a table edge. Roll for each unit, on a 4+ the unit can move 6’’ (maximum) from the chosen table edge as if coming out of reserve. On a roll of a 1 the unit comes on the players left side, on a 2 the unit comes on the players right side and on a 3 the unit comes on the opposite side of the players chosen table edge. These 'unfavorably' deployed units follow the same rules for deploying as the units entering the players chosen edge. For purposes of falling back and outflanking the invaders table edge is the opposite table edge that the interceptor has chosen.
The Invader starts the game and all other rules for setting up and playing a battle apply. (note: due to this deployment type you’ll find out both sides cannot charge first turn due to both sides coming from reserves.)

Bonus experience: First in last out! If you have a warlord that has lost a wound this battle but still alive at the end, you gain 2 bonus warlord experience.

Re: Campaign log: Glimpse into the golden age.

Battle report: Str10_hurts vs Captain J.

    Mission 1

    Necron armylist:
    Destroyerlord with 2+ save

    10 tesla immortals
    10 tesla immortals

    3 scarab swarms
    9 scarab swarms
    5 wraiths

    3 spiders with a gloomfield

    Imperial Guard armylist:
    CCS with 4 plasmaguns

    Psyker battle squad (8 models)
Storm trooper squad with 2 meltaguns (5 models)

    Veteran squad with 3 meltaguns
    PCS with 4 flamers
Infantry squad with grenade launcher and autocannon
Infantry squad with grenade launcher and autocannon
Infantry squad with grenade launcher and autocannon
Infantry squad with grenade launcher and autocannon

    Scout Sentinel with autocannon
    Thunderbolt (forgeworld)

    Pre battle thoughts:
Thoughts before the battle, it's a hectic deployment so I guess units will be all over the place this is the only models I have so I have to make do with it. Looking at the IG list...woa what a hoard of models and a flier crammed into it. The psyker squad will be target No.1, letting my units run or drop a horrible large blast seems the most dangerous on the battlefield. My scarabs and wraiths should keep the guard occupied for a couple of turns at least.

    Set-up:
My trait was use warlords leadership....-_-
Captain J. had re-roll 1's within 3'' of an objective, not bad when wielding plasma I guess.
5 objectives placed in an X-ish shape battlefield.
On the roll-off I get to be the invader and Captain J. the interceptor. All my units land where I more or less intend them to and more important I get my spiders within 6'' of the big scarab unit.
Captain J. deployment was less successful, choosing the right side. A lot of units not coming from the sides he did not want and does not manage to siege the initiative.

    Turn 1:
No charges from either side makes things a bit more complicated. I add 3 swarms to my existing swarm big swarm and move my spiders towards the blob of bodies . I move my small swarm out of LoS from the flamers in the hope it is enough. I move my tesla immortals with the Lord in range of the spyker squad and the other immortals are positioned a bit towards the middle putting them in range of the left infantry squad and out of rapid fire range of the CCS plasmaguns (horrible horrible weapons!). My Wraiths fly right into the faces of the meltagun veterans, hoping to stay alive.
The shooting phase was for what little I had very successful, 10 immortals wound the psyker squad 17 times...aaaaand its gone! The other immortals do enough damage to break the left infantry squad and falls back towards the rightside.

The IG moves up with the PCS and gets LoS to my small scarab swarm. And the CCS roll a 6 with their terrain roll and move up a level and get in range of my immortals.
The shooting phase meant death to only 2 wraiths and 2 scarabs, 1 immortal and total BBQ menace wiping my 3 scarabs from 4 flamers. This could have gone way worse.

    Turn 2+3:
Let the charging commence! The spiders add in another 3 swarms but taking one wound for it, the swarm moves 12 up towards the flesh sacks. The wraiths move an inch forward using their infantry movement. The spiders move towards the sentinel and the IG BBQ crew. My lord detaches and also moves up to take care of the dug in guard. My upper immortals engage the left infantry squad point blank with an option to charge if necessary. My lower move into a better position to engage the CCS.

    Last thing he saw...

The shooting phase resulted in my upper immortals overclocking their guns again and do 14 wounds on the remaining infantry squad wiping it completely. The lower Immortal unit also install their new over clocking update and murder all of the CCS but one plasmagunner who holds its ground.

The assault phase went about as good as it could go, lord, scarab swarm and wraiths all wipe a squad and sustain minor damage. One of the spiders gets roasted in the combined charge towards the sentinel and the BBQ crew and I fail to get in range of the PCS but the main target is reaches and the spiders destroy the sentinel.

Captain J. is fighting an uphill battle with his cross-eyed troops and dealing with sixes rolling obsessed tesla immortals. With his thunderbolt moving onto the battlefield and storm troopers to target the lower immortals he makes a last attempt to remove one of the scoring units. Moving his plasma gunner into a position to snipe a Immortal and get out of LoS in the progress. The surviving infantry platoon whiffs the dice-roll and the same goes for all of his remaining shooting resulting in the loss of 1 immortal as an end result.

Playing a mop-up turn results in a clear win for Necrons with the Guard commander throwing in the towel.

+++ All kinds of xenos, heretics and even forces loyal to the emperor have landed and are securing ground and are engaging each other over the better parts of this wasteland.

Meanwhile were are making progress into what we now think is the capital city. +++

+++My engineer was actually the one who found out what kind of glyphs they were. They are the most simplified letters of ancient high gothic, incredible. This means there were humans here before the time of the emperor making the chance of finding valuable information even bigger.

What seems even more valuable to me is that my engineer told me he only once saw these kind of signs once before on an artefact that dated to the very start of the golden age.+++

+++ Deciphering the language seems more difficult than thought before, the language has nearly no overlap in any of the current language bases known. Though some more positive news is that we have found what looks like a more or less intact main building. We will investigate this tomorrow. +++

    Table size: 6’X4’

Terrain: Slightly more terrain than average.

Anomaly level: 0, scanners are picking up minor distortions but no in game effect.

Mission: The scouring, with the exception the 6 objectives are 2 victory points each. Each player starts with 4 flexible points. After you roll on the mysterious objective table the player who’s unit identified the objective may use flexible points to increase the objective’s victory points (up to a maximum of 4) one flexible point can be traded for a victory point. After this the opponent may use his flexible points to bring down the amount of victory points of this objective (to a minimum of 1), after this the final worth of the objective is set and cannot be changed. At the end of the battle any unused flexible points are lost.

    Deployment: Vanguard strike

    Mission 1

    Yaaarhhhg!

Papa papaja here.... over...... hello? ahhh there you are my liege.

It was a hard fight to the last twitching of those damned chicks of battle ( damn they are hot sir)
we deployed first but we saw non.... suddenly they where all around us. We are a lucky bunch
of filth because we had the initiative and made great first wave of rubble. almost a whole unit of
flying chicks blasted away whith a good psy-thing out of my head.... it still hurts sir.
The response was ..... a killer..... a lot of shooting and rending and more shooting.... We almost
died sir......... almost..... both me and my brother deamon-prince had 1 wound...
second wave was cool one of our captains had your gift with him and transformed in a greater-
deamon.... and our little deamons camevto help as well.
short version is a great deal of destruction.

We had some trubble with the shooting but we did it sir, we won the battle... because the leader-
chick did not come back... i hate that when that happens... lucky oblitirator....he b*tch-slapped her
to dead in close-combat and looked realy stupid if she'd came back for more....

Re: Campaign log: Glimpse into the golden age.

    Mission 2

    O.....my......god......

No realy..... my god... not yours.......

Nurgle for the win!!!!! pfwhahaha .... sucks.....

2 deamonprinces with flying and mark of nurgle
2 units of seven plaguemarines with icon, 1 plasmagun and captain
2 units of 5 lesser deamons
    1 oblitirator
    1 greater deamon

Turn 1. I did not have the luck i was hoping for.... tau.... is not the best, but they shoot a lot.. so
turn 1 oblitirator gone.... just because.... 3 wounds on my deamon prince.... i put all my points on a
objective melrdown so my opponent must come out of his cover to claim others...... good thinking
    huh?
my turn.... i must go forward because there is to much land between us.... i walk and claim an
objective..... that blows up in my face.... just my luck.

Turn 2. he shoots some more and my deamonprince is a goner... the fricking looser was also my
general.... sucks balls.... again he claims an objective... i hate him.... this was the turn i came to
realise that tau shoots a lot more than me and also a lot farder than that they walk......
my turn. 1 unit of lesser deamons.... YEAH BITCH!!!! and thats it.... i walk more and thats it.....
    realy.....

Turn 3 till 5. everything came but died pretty fast...

Long story short... i did it... i died like a baws!!! i did one wound in the whole battle, and just
because he jumped out of terrain.... so he wounded himselve... new low for me.
my nurgle marines did take a lot of fire.... im so proud. im happy because i know that it was
not completely my fault that i lost.... it was papa nurgle that failed to see my bigger plan.... or
something in that line of thinking.
5 rounds of heavy fire and i still had units on the table....two... 1 unit lesser deamons and 1 unit
    plaguemarines.

I rock!!!! face first...... better luck next time

Re: Campaign log: Glimpse into the golden age.

Hmm, my thoughts of battle 1.

What a hellhole was that. True, I made the terrible mistake of putting my BPS in the open, but who could have thought that one unit of tesla immortals would wipe them out with 17 wounds.
My guardsmen did the best they could to overcome these terrible machines, but alas even with under average dice rolls I couldn't recover from the blow struck.
I couldn't build an effective fire base from which to expand further outwards, while the necrons walked everywhere without hindrance.

This mission favors close combat armies a lot because of the small table and because of the random deployment.

Next time the necrons won't be this lucky anymore, I promise. Let's bring the big guns to battle!!!!!

    =2xSquads sisters of battle+Melta gun+Multimelta+rhino
    Sergeant+Combiplasma
    =Domion squad(5)+2 melta guns+rhino

    =Veteran squad+3 melta guns+chimera
    =Veteran squad+3melta guns+chimera
    =Demolisher Tank
    =2 griffon tanks

    Deployment

To start with we had about 5 objectives all around the center.
Theodoris did win the roll off, and made him the invader. So that made Don the Interceptor.
Theo scatter a lot around the place and was like everywhere on the table, and kept cellestine and her seraphine in reserve.
Don’s army stood on every side of the field, also from a side where I could shoot 4 grenades at the back of the exorcist (but no siege the initiative)

    Turn 1

Theo didn’t do much except shoot some snap shot from the fire points of the rhino’s, The exorcist Hit target and destroyed on of Dons precious tanks and exploded.
In return don took vengeance and destroyed the tank, and 2 rhino’s. also some of the sisters died with the explosions. This wasn’t looking good for the sisters.

    Turn 2

Celestine came down with her bodyguard, not doing much. Some snap fire shots again, but 1 chimera got destroyed by the shooting of those woman.
Don’s artillery shredded the sisters totally to pieces making the survivors cowers in cover (got pinned)
Most of the seraphim died by the lasgun fire. It was almost over

    Turn 3-6

Cellestine wanted to take revenge for her sister that lay in a wake of dead and pointed her flamer to a platoon squad killed them all, this made her not able to charge.
Don pointed the lasguns towards the flying saint, took 2 wounds of her and so I charged, She killed four men, but the platoon officer with the shuffle killed her of, she didn’t stand up and this ended the game in victory for tank commander Don.

The battle was great fun and it was a challenge to fight Scar's twin dreadknights. I blame my loss on my lack of experience with the new edition and the unfortunate demise of my warlord/daemon prince. He basically got gunned down by random bolterfire in a single turn, which was a bit of a wierd moment for me, being forced to change my entire plan and go on the defensive.

I'll be playing another battle this friday against Captain J/littlehorus with his Imperial guard.

    Mission1
    =======
bring your daughters to the slaughter.
    Well....
    Not this time.
    a 1000 points
My battle was against Templar Koen with his super space marines.
Bringing 10 termies, 10 snipers , 10 tatical marines, and a uber Terminator Librarian with Psychic Powers to boot

    my army
    Saint cellestine
    2xSquads sisters of battle+Melta gun+Multimelta+rhino
    Sergeant+Combiplasma
    Domion squad(5)+2 melta guns
    Retribution squad 4heavy bolters
    2 Exorcist tank

He was the invader, this means i will have some advantage
    set up:
    his troops deep strike
i choose a side and everything comes up were i want it(this is an huge advantage for me), all my troops are in the same corner.
    round 1:
    no nightfight
Koen tries to get hold of 2 objectives and gets them.
shoots my Retribution squad away, and is very happy, i`m not
    ***
I shoot 3 termies with my exorcists away and get hold of 1 objective
    Commander Koen is not happy
Saint celestine moves to his tatical sqaud, but does not get them

    round 2
Space marines move to Celestine shoot , and the termies try to shoot her also , ofcourse it does nothing to her.
Psychic Powers cripple Celestine, she can not attack or charge or anything( i hate Psychic Powers, you just can`t stop them)
Snipers hide in the wood nearby the objective, the objective becomes a bomb and explodes at the end of the turn, this did not happen this turn
    ***
i shoot an other 4 termies with my exorsists, Commander Koen is not happy
Celestine does nothing but gets 1 wound,
I move 1 rhino to the objective were the termies are dying, and hope to get a least 2 objectives, since my other battle sqaud already controles 1 objective.

    Round 3
Snipers move into cover and claime the objective nearby.
the 3 remaining termies run for cover, and the lib. does his power so celestine can do again nothing
The marines do nothing to Celestine, and she does nothing back.
    ***
The exorcists shoot an other 3 termies and kill the Librarian , the snipers do nothing but the objective explodes and 1 sniper dies
Celestine loses 1 wound an has 1 left.
Battle sisters move closer to the objective were the termies were

    Round 4
    Snipers do nothing
tatical sqaud kill Celestine, but she kills also 2 of them
    ***
Exorcists try to kill snipers but they are in cover and this a slow progres
battle sisters move to the 2th objective
the other battle sister squad are getting ready to kill to tatical marine sqaud, but stay in the rhino

Templar Koen does not see an win or draw anymore , so we agree the game is over and the Sisters win this round

Threat Level High, Suggestion to send Destroyer Lord Slash to intercept.

    Preparing army:
    20 Tesla Immortals
    5 Scarab Groups
    1 Annihilation Barge
    2 Doom Scythe
    Destroyer Lord Slash

Turn 1: Necrons move into favorable firing position. Grey Knights counter strategy with they own movement and fire at the Necrons but do nothing.

Turn 2: Doom Scythes are late and don't show up. Shooting commences and a few Grey Knight Strike squad parish. Grey Knights retaliate and immobilize the Annihilation Barge.

Turn 3: 1 Doom Scythe shows up and destroys a Terminator holding a Psycannon, and some Grey Knight Strike squad dies from Tesla fire. And a Grey Knight Dreadnaught dies from Destroyer Lord Slash and his Scarab team.
Grey Knights kill 4 Tesla Immortals, 1 failed to reassemble.

Turn 4: The Last Doom Scythe enters the battle and destroys some Grey Knight Strike squad. Grey Knights are almost removed from the Tomb World. Sadly Destroyer Lord Slash failed to reassemble.

Turn 5: Grey Knight moral really low as the last of the Grey Knight Strike Squad gets reduced to almost nothing.
Unable to capture enough points, Necrons hold the key to the Tomb World.

Re: Campaign log: Glimpse into the golden age.

Daan of War again here with the mission 2 report:

The fun thing about my opponents army was that it was mostly infantry. He only had a single tank (not counting the chimera) that shot a S10 AP2 template and a forgeworld flyer. The game was mostly about objectives and I actually thought I had a chance in the beginning since most of the objectives were in my deployment zone and his army was clearly not going to be legging it across the table any time soon. I figured if I managed to kill off his troops quickly enough, I would be able to deny his objectives and my marines would be resilient enough to hold on to whatever they found. Most importantly: I wanted to take the decimator out for a test drive.

[Start of turn 2. I killed a chimera, he immobilized a rhino. Everything was still looking pretty even.]

I can be long and short about it, but in the end, despite the fact that my plan mostly worked, I just didn't have enough troops left at the end to keep my objectives. Once the decimator and the daemon prince were dead I only had 20 marines who were in no good position to defend themselves (cover saves having really taken a blow in the new edition). Furthermore, since I'm fairly new with the 6th edition ruleset, I was also taken by surprise by some of the additional objectives that the game has now. Having your general killed will give a point to your opponent, which I see now, drastically diminishes the usefulness of certain HQ choices that are designed for combat (...such as Daemon Princes). Also, the decimator is just a big ol' point sink and despite being awesome to look at, won't be a repeat guest in my 1000 point lists.

Re: Campaign log: Glimpse into the golden age.

    Mission 2

    Battlereport

Forces of Tau (Bobby)Vs Forces of the Space marines(Templar Koen) Battle 3 1000p

The objective was to hold as many objectives as possible. The table devided through the middle from corner to corner. Allot of terrain. The spearhead of the space marine force was a big unit of 10 terminators with a librarian in terminator armor to support them. The Tau force had some very powerful shooting capabilities with 3 railguns in total and a mixture of kroot, warriors, and suits to try and blow the space marine force to smithareens.
The first turn was rather uneventfull. Because of the high density terrain there wasn't allot of shooting possible. In turn 2 the space marine dropped right at the doorstep of the tau to cause allot f pain and suffering and the goal was to push Tau from an objective in their deployment zone. 2 units of the space marines were held back to hold 2 objectives throughout the game. Unit of 10 marines and a unit of 10 scouts with sniper rifles.

The terminators took allot of beating throughout the battle and in the end only the librarian was left. He was made a scoring unit because of the warlord traits. The objective was made into a 4 points objective. Then disaster struck...on the last turn Tau held a few objectives as did the space marines. I wanted to remove a final suit of Tau from the facinity of the objective so I used Psychic shreak to try and kill it...but I was tormented by the warp and recieved a wound because of it. After deciding to charge it(I was still within 3 inch if I would've killed it)The suit managed to hit me with 3 of the 4 bullits it could fire with snapfire....and ofcourse there it was a second wound...the librarian went down. I did not roll high enough for another turn and the battle ended in the 5th turn. Luckily the suit wasn't close enough when I ended my last turn so we managed to draw it because I shot his tau commander with a lascannon from my marines, and I managed to break the lines as well.

Very VERY close battle, and a very sour end for the space marines. Match ended in a draw.

    Mission 3
    Grimzilla vs Don Cabulo

Necrons are invading a Imperial Guard planet.
A Monolith has been sighted in the East, moving slowly towards the capital. 2 Night Scythes have been seen on the horizon.
The Imperial Guard call in extra help from Captain Darnath Lysander to help bolster the defences.

The battle was short lived since the overwhelming firepower of the Imperial Guard was just too much for the attacking Necrons.
Just after the Night Scythes arrived to battle the massive Monolith gets destroyed by melta fire.

The Imperial Guards suffer minimal losses while completely destroying the Necron forces. At turn 5 the game was over.

Man of the Match was Captain Darnath Lysander which bolstered some ruins and gave 2 units a 2+ cover save when gone to ground. He also destroyed the Necron Destroyer Lord in combat.

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

This is my report of recon 21-256-5498. We were scouting ahead of the main column with 2 armoured veteran squad, 1 demolisher and 1 devildog. Our mission was to scout about 10 km ahead for a defensive position which could be held for resupply and linking up with Company Screaming devils.
Nothing worth noting was seen or discovered crossing the open plains for about 3 hours. We had covered 6 km and heading to a small village. I sent the devildog ahead to scout for potential xenos threats and to get an idea of the lay out of the village. As soon as the devildog came within 600 meters of the village it was engaged. It noted a couple of snipers and a full squad of marines taking up firing positions to defend the main square.
Having ordered the devildog back, we regrouped and tried to make contact with the unknown marines. The marines didn’t reply to our calls. The only thing my radiomen could hear was an unknown language.
Having encountered Chaos in my previous missions I made my conclusion and ordered a steady advance to the village.
The devildog went to the left flank, making use of it’s superior speed to scout and engage the enemy in there flank. The 2 chimaera’s with veterans inside drove up the front, in order to make use of their melta guns. The command chimaera took up the right flank. Because there was a big building that blocked our line of sight to the marines, we didn’t know where the main marine force was positioned. So the demolisher took up position in the rear to support where necessary.
As we advanced we targeted the block where to our intel the marines should be hiding. The devildog was the first to open fire and took out a marine. The chimaera’s fired blindly at the ruin and one scout was confirmed as being killed. The marines had taken their time to make the best out of cover and had perfect firing lanes. Their first lascannon shot barely missed the devildog. In the first moments of contact a avenger from the imperial navy established radio contact and asked for fire coordinates. E.T.A. at that moment was 2 minutes.
I gave order to fire everything we had at the marines in order to kill their lascannon. The demolisher couldn’t fire, because it was lumbering behind and couldn’t get in range yet. We confirmed 3 more dead marines and about 2 scouts where seen being hit, but we couldn’t confirm this.
From my command chimaera I saw that the second lascannon shot hit the devildog, but a damage report from the crew gave a glancing hit to the front armour.
The chimaera’s drove further forward and kept the enemy pinned down, slowly reducing the marines and scouts. Because of the open ground in front of the building and not wanted to be surprised by an enemy counter attack, I gave the order to keep distance and wait for the demolisher and close air support. Again we killed some scouts and we guessed an ammo or fuel depot, because of a large blast that killed a marine.
E.T.A. 30 seconds from the avenger and I ordered my chimaera’s a few meters back. The lascannon fired again but because of the overwhelming firepower brought to bear, he couldn’t get a decent shot of. As we heard close air coming in, the scouts fell back deeper inside the building. At the moment the avenger closed in, the demolisher made it’s presence felt and fired at the marines, still guarding the entrance. The shot destroyed the front door. The avenger fired it’s bolt cannon and killed 2 marines. The lascannon was reported as destroyed, the avenger reported not seeing more enemy troops, we closed in for the kill. The demolisher fired a shell right where the front door had been only moments ago and every weapon we had fired. When the smoke cleared, thermal optics from the avenger couldn’t see any marines left alive. The veterans searched the ruins and saw 10 dead snipers and 10 killed marines. On closer inspection, we identified an unknown chapter that was not registered as engaged in this warzone.

We took up defensive position around the village and sent High Command an all clear message. The Avenger kept on our position just in case. After about 6 hours the first vehicles of the main column entered the village.

    Scar's GK Vs Malcaor's Tau
    3th Mission.

After deployment Malcaor siege'd initiative on the roll of a 6.... The beginning of the end of the grey knights.... lol again... I cant say i'm doing very good so far in the campaign.
I have managed to claim 2 objectives but after he got first blood and my commander he was 2 points in front of me.
I managed to kill his commander in the 3th turn but this was just not enough.
And in the last turn he managed to kill my last dread knight who was my last hope of getting his units of the objective he had.
So i had 2 objectives and his commander he had 2 objectives, first blood and my commander...
    GG again...
I say its time for some more point games!!! 1000pt grey knights is not very good with the models i have to make an army.... And henchmen spam is just boring in my opinion.

So 3 losses so far... time for some changes i think

    Scar out.

Re: Campaign log: Glimpse into the golden age.

Daan of War Mission 3 Report:
I played against Koen this round, who was also sporting his chaos marines. The third mission was Big Guns Never Tire which means heavy support can claim objectives and are worth an extra victory point if you kill them. Koen used two defilers and a squad of 2 obliterators while I used 2 squads with 1 obliterator each. For our other units, Koen used a lash sorcerer, a regular squad with plasma and some khorne bezerkers. I used two regular squads with melta's in rhino's, a termicide unit, 5 lesser daemons and a daemon prince.

The battle as a whole was really wierd and had many wtf dice roll moments. A single chaos space marine squad killing off the daemon prince with a single rapid fire bolter volley was one of them and the khorne bezerkers killing off two out of three terminators with boltpistols was another. Luckilly, there were some good rolls for my side as well (the chaos marine unit running away after 2 plasma cannon shots and being able to blow up both defilers in 1 turn), so the battle ended in a draw with both armies almost completely wiped out.

I was pretty happy with the result anyway. My plan was to keep my obliterators on the objective and have my other guys disrupt and distract Koen's army. So it was nice to have a plan actually work for a change. The downside was that pretty much everything had to die for that to happen. I'll have to work on that.

The Upgrades I rolled for my army after spending my battle and warlord points were the "short range scanners" (ability to reroll mysterious terrain and objective rolls), which was entirely useless this battle as all objective abilities were predefined, and the +1 WS and +1 BS upgrade for my warlord. Unfortunately it's use is diminished as well since I mostly use daemon princes. I may think about using a sorcerer now...
