New missions

I fully expect to see these as either a free pdf update on the GW site (see: Night Spinner) or at least rolled into a print edition at a later date (Battle Missions: Vol 2 or something).

@Wes: I'd love that, but I'm already seeing rumors for too many other new things in a 6th edition codex. Between Warlord tables, fortifications, new units (like flyers for armies that do not yet have them), psychic disciplines, and special Allies tables these books are going to get really big. Not that this is a bad thing. Of course, I also expect that some books will be heavier on some of those and lighter on others.

This is great news if for no other reason than players have the option to see bits of new content before enough of it is done enough to release in book form. Think of it as DLC that will eventually be rolled into the "platinum"/"premium"/"game of the year" edition (generally for much cheaper and available physically than all the bits separately for those who are worried) when there is enough content.

So the missions have some special rules that i cant find the blurb to

Eg holdthe line, home ground, vanguard, lightning strike etc. Am i missing something? Where are these explained.

If you are reading it on the ipad just click on the rules and the box pops out with the explanation. Also probably there is a glossary once you click on the box. (need to check this tonight).

I was confused by this on the original space marine codex.

Yes there is a glossary of terms for the entire mission book

Okay, i think the real point is this, should we the players be expected to drop another hundred dollars for an gaming accessory to play this game? As it is, we have tape measures, dice, rulers, templates, objective markers.. and the two new markers coming out.. on top of a few hundred ( or thousands depending on how long you been in, or how much of a habit this is to you..) all ready in to the hobby, plus your codex and rule book..

I think its a bit much to think everyone and there brother is going to run out to grab a Icarp, just to get extra missions.. now,

I'm not ages downloadable content for Gw, nor am i ageist paying for it.. but give us a choice in format. Give me a pdf, sure it sucks to pay eight buck for it, but White wolf games has gotten me used to paying for print on demand.. ( when its the only way to get the books, what are you going to do? ) so i can swallow doing it now. I can not see buying an apple rip off POS, for any thing less then target practiced in a live fire exorcise, and those would be used ones.. just to eradicate them from This world and save mankind from its self.

There are a tone of other readers out there, that can do color.. why dose it have to be the apple format? I header its due to apple having the Itune store and some strange form of security they have, weather this is true or not i don't know.

The new 7" rumored iPad for next month, should be cheap enough for our already expensive habit. At least I hope it is. With everything I need to lug around to play, a smaller iPad shouldn't be too much of a hassle.

I'm glad that GW is making more missions and ones that in keeping with the character of armies. I hope tau and DE ones are incoming. I also hope these sell well too encouraging GW to do more digital stuff. I don't own an ipad have no intention of getting one or any tablet for that matter but I hope they wend their way to pc eventually and good sales here will lead to that.
