Imperial Guard Psychic driveby uzi
Just thinking about this on BOLS, wondered if anyone considered it.
IG Psyker, you can always take telepathy and just always go for the signature power which is witchfire 12" roll 3D6 subtract targets LD, that many = dead (inv can be taken).
Ride this chap in a chimera with a psychic battle squad... see where i'm going with this .
Say 10 strong SBS unit in a chimera and you reduce unit to Ld to 2, average on 3d6 is what 11/10? thats average 8-9 dead. Even against terminators or stuff with an inv or fnp like plague marines, thats a lot of invs to make. Bit of a trick to pull off and the unit aint cheap but would be pretty sweet.
Could always mix it up with allies too, like have the SBS backfield and an allied chaos sorceror whos a bit beefier up closer to pull this off, heck he could even have termie armour an DS in and do it
.

Re: Imperial Guard Psychic driveby uzi
only problem I see is that if the Primaris is joined to the squad then doesn't their shooting have to be resolved simultaneously? SO RAW what time does the leadership reduction occur in relation to Psychic Scream? I use this combo too, but I keep the Primaris separate for this reason, that I can't honestly say if the Ld reduction would occur first, or simultaneously, or after.

My first thought when I read the BADAB book/ IG FAQ.
Then I thought some more about it.
You need to pass 2 separate psychic tests, the enemy gets 2 Deny the Witch, and you roll to hit with BS4 with a 12" range power. This costs at least 235, more if the Primaris/ Psyker squad travels in separate squads (which they should)
Makes you wonder why you don't just takes some artillery or Demolisher.
Methinks the Primaris rolling on Telepathy is good,
The Psyker squad is good.
But the Scream combo should not be the main plan.
I hope it doesn't get comped into oblivion.

Re: Imperial Guard Psychic driveby uzi
I only bother bringing my primaris against low ld armies anyway, cause I normally go for telepathy. The psyker battle squad in my mind is best when you are using the primaris AND lots of pinning weapons. Don't even need to take a max 10 squad to make your opponent uncomfortable with say a -5 to his ld.
Psychic scream primaris with a psyker battle squad is gimmicky and works best against smaller elite squads or big low ld squads, but don't be fooled, your main plan should always revolve around big guns and lots of grunts, that psyker trickery nonsense should just be the cool side show that makes your opponent go... "WTF?!!!"

Re: Imperial Guard Psychic driveby uzi
I'd agree, that's a neat combo, but be wary of relying on it too much. I would also imagine lots of Farseer's when it comes down to the real-deal. Being able to combo this on-the-fly is the way to go. That said, wouldn't it be just as comboable to use the one that takes fearless away and just run whole fearless squads off the battlefield with your psykers
But yeah, rely on artillery and such, just keep this as a backup. I'd actually probably sit the Primaris behind or in some squad while allows this to be similar to a flamer for tough armies. Tougher armies will be all "HEY YOU DERP! I Can walk right into flamer range nanananana" and you'll just turn up the heat with the psyker combo to do the same thing. Interesting way to keep people off your IG gunline IMO.
Also, another fragility in the combo is that you'll be in a 12/10/10 transport hoping not to get it gunned down before getting there and wiped off the board. Comboing the two together => the enemy WILL smash those 250 points in the first turn or so. Tread lightly with relying on such a gimmick.
